Re: Frickled Pickle (Genny's Diner) to become Comfy Cow

For shizzle the frickled pickle, we haven't been there, and I doubt we'll visit before they close based on some of the opinions of the place. I do hope the Comfy Cow folks do something fitting with that pickle sign.

I'll have to say that having a Comfy Cow across from Clifton's Pizza will make for a dynamite evening out.

Then again, some ice cream would go down well after etouffée or red beans and rice . I understand that J Gumbo's is still an easy walk to there.

It's very close to Irish Rover. Can you say "Guinness Float," boys and girls?

What about a Frickled Pickle flavored ice cream to pay homage to Genny's?

Funny you should suggest that... the owner had this quote in the paper today:

“I will probably have a frickled pickle ice-cream on the menu… for the pregnant women.” -- Louisvillian Tim Koons-McGee, to The Buzz, about opening up a second Comfy Cow ice-cream shop at the former Genny’s Diner on Frankfort Avenue.

Typical pregnant-lady stereotype. Funny, I don't crave pickles and ice cream. I crave peanut butter!

The hubby and I visited for Customer Appreciation Day. He had Bourbon Ball and Salty Caramel, I had Pretzel Logic and Salty Caramel. Delicious. I will say this, a dipped waffle cone with 2 scoops is a MEAL. We had our treat at approx. 2pm, and I'm still full! The line was almost out the door. It made me happy to see such a great place doing so well. Two dipped, double scoop waffle cones came to approx. $7.50. Ice cream is half off today. Run, don't walk!
