I think I see brunch in my future. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions! We ended up @ Maido for super happy hour on Thurs., a cookout on Fri., Swan Dive on Sat., and brunch @ N. End on Sunday, followed by a quick bean & rice burrito from La Bamba before his flight. Supposedly they don't use lard, and I warned him that I wasn't sure if it was exactly vegan-friendly, but he didn't mind. He also seemed mildly impressed by the burrito, going against his rule of never eating Mexican outside of Los Angeles. I'd eaten at Swan Dive a couple of times before - the first of which was great, the second of which was pretty gross (this has been at least a year ago), but I was really impressed by the food this time. They seemed to have improved their vegan mac & cheese, too!

Mike-
Doesn't BBQ Place imply we serve meat?

Yes but it would be nice especially when i'm with all my coworkers or a group of friends that all want to go to a BBQ place to have an option that isnt 4 items off the "sides" menu.

And this exact situation has just arisen with trying to plan a dinner with some old friends of mine. A place was recommended and the reply for vegetarian options was, "They have salads and a couple of appetizers" ugh. AKA "No they dont have vegetarian options"
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

The Swan Dive, when Melissa has it on the menu, makes a fab curried "chicken" salad sandwich. And the nachos are nearly always the special on Thursday night and have developed their own loyal following.
