No need to apologize to me. Chris basically called Jeff T an idiot. Well, he told him to look in a mirror if he wanted to see one....

Since "foodie" is one of the forum "ranks" and we use the term here often, along with "locavore," I might as well express my opinion. ;)

I think they're useful words, and I think Wiki glances on but doesn't quite hit the main point: It's a useful umbrella term for people who are interested in food - both amateur and in the business - and it is much less snobby and sniffy than language like "gourmet" or "connoisseur." It's not about pro vs. amateur, it's about a short, snappy catch-all term that doesn't carry a high-and-mighty implication. That's my opinion.

What if I don't have an opinion?
Does that mean I don't have a "you know what"?

In my opinion - why isn't everyone watching my rerun of Secrets on Channel 21 right now? :P

Because I watched it the first time. That was some fancy shrimp and grits.

I understand and the full wiki is worth reading. I didn't realize the term foodie was that old. I just don't like the word and feel uninformed people equate foodie to sniffy gourmet. I'd rather have forum host as my title, but that's just my opinion.
