Subliminal music? I have never ever heard anything in there.
I was in a Subway once (owned by Middle Eastern people) and it was playing a Christian music station.
So, for those who've been to In N' Out, is anyone offended by a reference to a bible verse on the bottom of the cup/fry container?

That kind of quiet evangelism doesn't bother me personally, but I can see where some people might find it intrusive, and for a company serving the general public, it seems a bit exclusionary to force your holy book on people who may not share it.

Here's a factoid that may or may not illuminate this discussion: Ollie's BBQ in Birmingham, Ala., is so loaded with Bible quotes on all the walls that a person who dropped in by accident might think he had wandered into a church if not for the smell of delicious smoked pork. Religious people they are, and they aren't shy about sharing it.

Okay fine. But Ollie's BBQ was also the last plaintiff that took its opposition to the Civil RIghts Act of 1964 all the way to the Supreme Court in its last-ditch effort to avoid being required to serve blacks.

Wearing your Christian faith on your sleeve doesn't necessarily make you a good one. Just sayin'.

I typically find there to be an inverse relationship between how good a Christian you are and how good a Christian you tell people you are.

Of course.. I'm Catholic, so.... what do I know? :D

Regardless, they make a tasty chicken sandwich, so I'm cool with whatever they want to do on Sunday.

Chris...I've always figured if you have to tell people how good you are, you aren't doing too good...and that logic seems to apply to many areas...

My husband will be ecstatic about a Chick-fil-A close to home...it's one of his favorite fast food places. While I'd like to see something more original in the area, I'll settle for the one company that actually does a little more the community.

Not particularly no, but i can guarantee there would be someone that would have a problem if I opened a pizza place and had a "Pontius Pilate Nail Drivin' Special" or "God Is A Lie" printed on the bottom of the containers.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

Post of the week as far as I'm concerned! I love to know what's on that pizza!

FERN CREEK HAS ARRIVED

After a brief review of their website I don't see them pushing anything in regards to religious philosophies.

I love the Highlands and wanted to stay in the Highlands when I was house shopping in 2001. I got a better, newer, more efficient home cheaper and I am happy with the decision. I can hop on Bardstown Rd and be in the heart of the highlands in about 8 minutes or so, and I do that quite regularly....

My fault.

Makes sense to me! Whatever they're doing, it's working. It's packed every time we stop in or drive by. Good for them!

Maybe the closed on Sundays is just good marketing. When do you most want Chick-fil-a? Sunday, at least that's how it seems to work in my house. So what happens when you want something you can't have? You want it more.

Though I would agree with more places being closed on Sunday if only to encourage more people to spend time with their families rather than on the go all the time.

Madeline-
Those who want to spend time with their families always find a way to do so. Those who chose not to do so will find a way to avoid that regardless of businesses being open on Sunday.
I'm old enough to remember growing up with Blue Laws and it was a super PITA, although I don't have a problem with any individual business closing whenever they choose.
Cheers,
Bill

The only thing that freaks me out at Chik Fil A is when you pull up to the drive thru and you see the cashiers face on the computer moniter! It startled me the first time- now I just think its weird.... and slightly unnecesary? But thats just me.

I promise you when I was in the store in Clarksville last week there was the Christian music playing very softly on the sound system...the reason I said subliminal was because it was soft as I said and when I listened closely I realised it was the new Christian soft rock type music...I don't think I would have felt nearly as bad if it were blasting the old hymns...I know what the stores owners believe but I dont like it being so soft and hidden
