Clancy?

by Roger A. Baylor » Thu Jul 12, 2007 7:47 am

Chef Clancy has been uncharacteristically reticent as this approaches, perhaps because the whole weekend is looking busy.

Last time I checked in at bNA, bookings for the Biere de Garde dinner were at roughly 80% of predicted capacity, but only Dave knows for sure.

I'm down to maybe 6 seats left for this event and then we reach critical mass.......

The French bieres de garde are on site, as is the keg of cider from Normandy.

As for the latter, we finally caught a break. I ordered a 2002, and received a 2001.

Cue up the Charles Aznavour CDs; I'm going in ...

Come out of the Kitchen!

by Gretchen D. » Sat Jul 14, 2007 6:43 pm

It seems as though a lot of foodies will be attending this special event. Being an icognito social director who would agree to have a face put with her name, might I suggest all forumites wear a strand of mardi gras beads to identify themselves so that we can make introductions? If anyone has a better idea, post it! I know many of you even live in my same neighborhood (Deer Park) from the "All About Louisville" Forum - it would be fun to meet you if you are attending!

Unless you're planning on tempting me with one of those complimentary dinners, I wasn't planning on "earning those beads", but rather wearing a strand of freebies from J. Gumbos!

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

I neither own beads, nor would any sane individual seek to have me earn them.

I'll be the tall guy babbling briefly about beer.

Roger and Dave put on a great evening last night at the Bastille Day Dinner! The beer selections were all very good and the cider was amazing - the perfect compliment to my favorite part of the meal... the veal chop... mmm mmm!

Great food, great beer and great conversation! It was a pleasure meeting both Roger and Dave. If you have never been to one of their beer dinners, make sure you don't miss the next one!
