There have been people who've come and that's where they feel comfortable..who knows. Also, it was GREAT for me when I had a small infant. I swear for 9 weeks in a row I got called out of the service because my child would not stop crying (you know that wonderful clingy stage) and at least I got to see a service sitting out there. Plus the cafe is open all week so it's a nice place for people to meet and talk. They also serve great salads (cheap!). They also have bands on Friday nights.

I hear God likes nothing more than a great salad and some rockin tunes.

You know who doesn't love a great salad? THE DEVIL!

I like Zaxby's. I like their salad, it's the best you can get at a fast food joint, and I adore fried mushrooms even though they are horrible for me.

The blackened chicken salad and fried mushrooms were on regular rotation in college...loved them both! Tried several other things and it's pretty good. I don't recall the sauce being all that great, but not sure I tried it either. Fairly sure they were the ones that did honey mustard wings that were pretty good.

Dan, I've been to Chick-Fil-A on numerous occasions, and I've been to Zaxby's even more often. There's no way I would ever consider Zaxby's to be a clone. I suppose I could break it down analytically, but it all boils (or fries ) down to a couple key points. Chick-Fil-A is built upon a sandwich. Zaxby's is built upon chicken strips. And there's no comparison in the taste. I've had Chick's strips and was decidedly unimpressed.

In a war of chains, Zaxby's does it better. The salads are good, the strips are great, and the sauce is addictive. It's a toss-up on the fries. I like waffle fries, but Zaxby's are thick crinkle-cuts and taste great dipped in the sauce.

There's a chicken strip place in Nashville (on Demonbreun near Music Row) called Otters that I visit every time I'm in town. They have similar sauce. Zaxby's is about as close as I can get to that here in Louisville..and unfortunately until this new location was announced, I always had to drive to Shelbyville or E-town for a fix.

I lived off chicken strips in college, so I would consider myself a quasi-expert. Now that they're finally coming to Louisville, it'll save me some gas money.

I'll stay out of the Southeast debate. This was still the restaurant forum last time I checked.

FYI this place opened on Monday. It has been crowded every time I go past, which is often since I am frequently in the area. I haven't been in the mood for greasy food this week so I have not stopped to sample the chicken strips that others have suggested are good.

Went for lunch. It was good, but not Chick Filet. Sorry, but I grew up on Chick Filet at the old Bashford Manner Mall.

We stepped into the other evening to try them out. As stated by someone else it's certainly not Chik- Fil-et but it's not terrible. They do a couple of things that I certainly didn't like. They charge 25¢ for a cup of water and they charge you if you want an additional sauce! We found out about the sauce because we originally were told everything came with Zax sauce which we get to like (it tastes like bland 1000 island dressing IMHO). When we saw that other people had different sauces my wife went up to the counter to inquire about them and she was told if we wanted anything else we would have to pay for it even though we didn't like what came with the meal. Certainly not good customer service in my opinion.
