I've got to put in a vote for Lotsa Pasta's muffuletta, which makes a pretty fair substitute for the New Orleans original.

Assuming they still have it, the Burger Wrap at Karem's in Norton Commons, which broke up a burger into juicy, sizzling bite-size bits and wrapped them in a tortilla with burger fixin's, was one of my better sandwich options, too. And I recall some excellent sandwiches at Meridian Cafe, although my memory isn't working up to full speed on the details this morning.

Nah, actually I screwed up by NOT having them on the list. But it's good now! Both added and tested to make sure the links are right.

Any time, guys - if you spot a bad link on the Louisville Restaurant HotLinks page, or a good local eatery Website that's left off, please let me know. I like to keep that thing comprehensive and accurate.

This is so much more fun than arguing about server wages :D That and this relative newcomer gets a line on some good food <insert "thumbs up" emoticon).

Hmm...I am on the fence with this one...It's between Pho Binh Minh 's Banh Mi Thit...(If I may borrow a few words from Robin)...A small, crisp-crusted but light French-style baguette is split open to carry a load of red-ringed roast pork, crunchy bits of cucumber and carrot, and a couple of fiery rings of thin-sliced raw jalapeño (so hot that the wary might want to remove them before eating), lightly spread with a pink, not-too-spicy aioli-type dressing....Broke da mouth!...and Stevens & Stevens Deli's Annie Hall sandwich...Hot turkey topped with artichoke and spinach dip on French bread with lettuce and tomato...Onolicious!...

I will need to visit both eateries again soon before I render a final decision... :)

Ooh, I didn't think about Banh Mi! Cafe Thuy Van has them too, and I hear that Vietnam Kitchen will make them for you off the menu. How about Cafe Annie? There's something about the East-meets-West marriage of France and Vietnam in the Banh Mi that's compelling.

Which reminds me, let us not forget the Cubano. I know Valu Market has its fans, but I think the best replication of the South Florida version is a tossup between Havana Rumba and Cocos Lokos.

They have a couple of tables but it's definitely more geared to the carry-out side of things.
Placing my to-go order as we speak :D :D :D

I also have to give a nod to any torta at Juan's joint Taco Tornedos out in J-town.

Seconded.

Also, the gyro at Zaytun and the gourmet grilled cheese (bacon AND avocado!) at Meridian.

Another vote for Danny Mac's Cheesesteak. Gary, have you ever had one? I notice how sarcastic you are every time anyone mentions Danny Mac's.
