This is fantastic, Christopher! I enjoyed a delicious soup from there recently when I wasn't even hungry - just wanted to stop in and see the place. The man at the counter (wasn't you, I'd have recognized your accent which I hear in my head every time I read your type-written words) was ever gracious and offered samples and advice, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't begging the generosity - he was just being hospitable. So tickled to see your name attached to this. Will you ever roast the best beans again? Even though you didn't see much of me at the old store, I bought your coffee regularly from Valu Mkt and I still have your cans in my cupboard, like relics, holding my sugars and flours. Very well done, mate. Good soups and sandwiches are the next best thing.

Beth, thank you for the great review, that was very nice. I had the "Belligerent BLPT" myself today, Yum!..

Jackie, that was probably my partner James Tyler who took care of you the other day. He is the mastermind behind everything. I just live in his world.

Thanks for the coffee props too and recycling. We will definitely be getting the coffee end going as soon as we can afford the equipment. I must say I'm having a blast again and happy to be back working with my friends... I just have to lay off the cookies while I work.

Hope to see you next time.

I was locked down in the kitchen yesterday getting food ready for our Super Bowl party and didn't have time to fix myself lunch or go out for anything. Luckily, I thought of Joe Davola's.

My half/half (Wild, Wild Western salad and Psycho Savory Roast Beef sandwich) were absolutely terrific. So good that I had to call my wife and tell her what she had just missed. Everything was very fresh and top notch, and there was a small cookie (also excellent) thrown in the bag for free.

Despite getting a little lost trying to find my house (the 2 Lakesides can be confusing), the food arrived in under 30 minutes. The gentleman who brought it even apologized for the delay, though I saw no need for any apologies.

Folks, try this place. It is really good.

.....Thanks for all the visits and nice comments from our forum friends. It's been great to see you all.

I just thought I'd post this since we've been getting calls asking whether or not we will be open today. Both with the holiday and the weather. ..."We will definitely be open and delivering today" :)
.
Thanks again everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Had lunch their today. Greeted by Chris and James that it was a Hotbytes day as i wasn't the only foodie in the house. I had a half vegetarian meatloaf sandwich and black bean soup. Could not believe it was meatless meatloaf - very impressive. Chris and James - Keep up the good work. To the foodies - you've gotta check this place out.

Kurt, we were there, too! I did hear Christopher mention HotBytes. Guess we should have introduced ourselves! My husband and I were both working at home yesterday, but decided to brave the elements to try Joe Davola's. Glad we did. Tim had the Mad Maple Baked Turkey, and I had the Belligerent BLPT. Both delicious. The pimento cheese is some of the freshest I've had, and the bacon is super-smoky. I really enjoyed the bite I snagged of the Turkey sandwich. The apricot aioli adds so much to it - it's kind of surprising. Also got to try the mushroom soup, and I will definitely go back for more of that.

Get in there, if you haven't. And/or have them cater to your office, meeting, or event.

I was at the next table over I think. Is your husband Tony? - Sorry I didn't introduce myself, I am under the weather and trying not to spread the love.

In that case, thanks for not spreading the "love".

My dad is Tony... but I was there with my husband Tim.

Had to feed 15 out of towner people at work today, ordered in an assortment of sandies and chips and drinks, everyone was very pleased. Neatly boxed with chips and a cookie and napkins...all for under $130! Delivered. Seriously good food for a very reasonable price. I also got to meet Christopher, he was our delivery person. One small suggestion, if you could print out a label with what is in the boxes (the menu description) that would be so helpful when we order in a bunch. These sandwiches are so different and so good, Turkey or Tuna just isn't special enough to describe what is inside. And the BLPT is beyond good. Thanks guys!

Add 2 more fans to the growing list. The wife and I went Sat. for lunch and it was great.

I went in with Robert and my dad this afternoon, and I just want to say "Three cheers for Christopher!" We didn't realize they closed at 6:00, so we walked in at 5:55 and he welcomed us graciously, encouraging us to relax and stay despite our hesitations at not wanting to be "those people." Robert had the roast beef, my dad had the veggie meatloaf, and I had the BLPT, and we were all very satisfied. Delicious but still hard to eat a whole one in one sitting because they're huge. Everything was excellent, though - thick, soft, wheatberry bread, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, perfectly cooked bacon, just right. You guys, if you haven't tried the BLPT, you have got to try it!! That garlic pimento cheese is a breakthrough. Christopher said there are 50 roasted garlic cloves in each batch, mmmmm. I have to say you are really getting your money's worth for $5.25 with those things. Ever the gracious host, he threw in three DELICIOUS cookies and when we raved about how good they were, he bagged up the rest of what he had left for the day and sent us home with those as well since they bake fresh ones each morning. Bonus! Also, the locally-brewed Roobios tea is great. I recommend the peach! Christopher, thank you. I just want to say that even beyond the scope of being a good businessperson, it is people like him that are so kind, warm, and patient that they actually make the world better. I feel great about supporting this place and encouraging others to do the same.
