I'm so glad the state turned over the maintenance of the main roads to better government! They're so much better than the state did. They only brined the bridges and overpasses and didn't worry about the roads! I guess they want to pocket as much money as possible out of the deal.

Why did they use brine when they should have used salt? I lived for my first 30 years in Chicago and I guarantee we would have a new mayor if this had happened up there. Anybody remember how Jane Byrne got elected? They had plenty of notice and blew it, just like they did a few weeks ago. It was barely below freezing if they had used enough salt it wouldn't have refrozen at all.
Why can't we use stuff like sand or dirt that would provide traction w/out the refreezing factor?
