Just to throw it out there. How long has NABC's Elector been around, 2002/2003? I would argue that is still new to most people outside of the area. It is just now being introduced outside of New Albany, so it is new to a lot of people. This might be what has happend here.

Elector date is correct and yes, just now outside of NA. I may be totally wrong but, all these beers are bottled which is nice for broad distribution. Maxim is in Palm Coast, Fl. so yeah, maybe they just got them there. I think some of the beers were picked for name only. See comments here: Rate Beer users question Maxim's Choices. Enjoy!

This is what I keep remembering in my head.

My recollection is that the LEO's "Reader's Choice" polls have repeatedly put Tumbleweed at the top.

I'm sure the $7 price tag had something to do with the voting. I don't think it's a bad steak for the price.

So the title of the article should have been

"25 beers that you could order to make you look less like a fratboy tool"

But touting the standard "big business bad" forum mantra, if somebody reads the list and the next time says 'I wanna fat squirrel' or 'lemme try one of those Porkslaps I read about in Maxim' is it really a bad thing that these beers may not measure up to a brewmasters BEST BEER EVER!!!

however flawed people may think this list is, because of it, somebody somewhere is gonna have their beer horizons broadened just a little bit.

and thats never a bad thing.

So I say hey Maxim, thanks for opening someones eyes to something other than bud, coors, or miller.
The 'net is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it.
