Give North End Cafe a call. They used to have Chicken & Dumpings on the menu. I'd ask for Christopher -- explain the situation -- and see if there's anything they can do. Their dumplings were not completely traditional, but they're really good. Kind of like dressing/stuffing balls in a chicken gravy. Sagey, but not so spicy that they'd be too much for someone who's not feeling well. Total comfort food.

Not so obvious since it went up 6 hours before yours. My guess is that you posted before reading the second page of posts . . . perhaps.

I can't tell you how touched I've been today by the generousity of the folks on this site- particulary toward someone they don't know. Not only did I get great recommendations, I had private message from one person who volunteered to make a batch for my Mom, and one from someone who offered to drive to the hospital tomorrow and deliver Chicken & Dumplings to my mom- even though his wife is in the hospital on the other side of town! My friend Gary offered to pick up an order for me at Ermin's downtown before they closed, then met me later to deliver the goods. I'm awed by it all.

All I can is thanks- you all made both me and my mother feel better due to your kindness.

Double snark

by Nora Boyle » Tue Jan 19, 2010 4:02 pm

You know what? I'm being snarky as well. Just because my page hadn't loaded and I suggested a favorite place doesn't mean I should take offense to being sharply corrected. I recant and bow out.

Nora,

A suggestion: It would be helpful if you used the quote function ( upper right hand corner of a posting) to show what comment your are referring to. I can't imagine you meant it that way, but the way your comments are written now they make it sound like you think my "thank you" was snarky....

Frankly, I'm trying really hard to figure out what Charles might have thought he was contributing to either the thread or to the community, but I'm striking out.

May we just PLEASE call this a misunderstanding instead of seeking of deep meaning and be thankful Deb was able to get help from a good bunch of people. And, just move on...Please?
