We have a wood burning stove that will be cranked up tonight along with a great Bluegrass Band.

We just got back. Great dinner on all counts. The beef brisket was sublime and we had the Shoofly Shiraz as an accompaniment. My son had the Cuban sandwich and my mother-in-law the fish. Blackberry cobbler was a fine finish. The music was nice as well.

Great destination on a cold night!

So many great suggestions it almost makes me wish for more frigid snow-covered weekends. When I started to share the list with my friends, they stopped me when I said Selena's. Had a wonderful meal there - delicious, garlicky calamari and heavenly Shrimp Manale plus a warm and neighborly atmosphere. I'm going to try to hit somewhere on the list every time we have a cold snap. I'm long overdue to visit Will at Westport.

I'll speak up next time. We had my elderly mother-in-law with us and it's a full time job to keep her entertained.
