I just want to say I hope it wasn't Impellizerri's because that place is awesome. $20-$30 pizza is a sticker shock BUT Impellizerri's is the only pizza I would buy at that price.

If the product doesn't match the price, then people are suckers or the situation will self-correct with time.

I couldn't agree more! :D

The main reason I've never been there is the price of the pizza. There are too many other great pizza spots around to spend that amount of money on a pizza. The late-night happy hour at Boombozz comes to mind as a significantly better deal, and I consider them to be gourmet pizza. Yesterday I had an 8 topping calzone at NABC for 7 bucks, and left completely full.

Another good pizza option in the OC is "Steve O's" (Buckner and Crestwood)....they have a pretty good Italian menu across the board, but (IMHO) their marinara could stand to be a little thicker...a bit too thin for my taste.... jg

It's probably worth remembering that in Italy, a single serving pizza (c.a. 12 inches) goes from €4.50 ($6.50) for a Margherita, up to maybe €7.50 ($11.00) for one with expensive toppings. Obviously the crusts are generally thinner and pies in Italy (well, everywhere in Europe) have probably a third less toppings and 50% less cheese than in the US.....so that factors into the cost. A "nice" restaurant will get probably a 25% higher price.

Still though, looks like some US eateries are making insane margins on 'Za. You wonder how they get away with it. Super hot waitresses? To me it seems like an arms race in the States to pile pizzas with more and more gut-busting toppings. Surely there must be room for someone selling wood-fired, hand tossed thin crusts with high quality toppings in sane portions. Works over here.

what town? Crestwood?

It can't be the best in town in Louisville if it's in another town.

Crestwood is in the Louisville MSA. I think NABC has the best pizza in town and I have to cross a state line to get it.

So we are now saying there is one "best pizza in town" in this map. The people in Nelson County might consider a Scott County place to have the "best pizza in town"?

Or better yet, the pizza Louisvillians choose as the best pizza in this MSA town? There are a whole bunch of towns in this area, a MSA is not a town.

So that you are willing to drive to get what you consider the best pizza is probably not the norm.

If a place is not in the same County, then it can not be called the Best in Town. No matter what any Geography book attempts to explain.

Oh! The never-to-be-settled "what is a town?" debate. I'm only going to further participate if there's beer and pizza involved.

I believe I recall a thread posted not too long ago about a coffee shop with topless baristas, so it's only a matter of time until we have topless pizza parlors.

I can see the tag line now:

"Toppings but not tops"

Or even worse:

"Mounds of toppings but no toppings on the mounds"

I think I just horrified myself... :?

Sounds like the start of an awesome business plan to me.

Thank you! :D

Not until Friday, unfortunately, but I'm trundling through all of the material. I think I actually post more during exam week sometimes because I'm almost constantly in front a computer reviewing something.

I think your prices are very reasonable.
