Asiatique will be open Christmas Eve from 5 until 10. We will also be seating in the dinning room from 5 until 11 on New Years Eve, the bar staying open later. New Years Day we will open at 5 and serve entrees until 11, the bar staying open later.

I personally am planning on attending Anthony's for brunch New Year's Day. The menu looks spectacular as always, and that's just what I'll need a great meal and a Bloody Mary before heading back into the trenches. See you there!

Side note- Asiatique now serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Both locations of The Original Impellizzeri's Pizza will be open on Xmas eve 11am-8pm. We are normally closed Thursdays during lunch but thought we could serve some of the last minute shoppers on Xmas eve. We had a crowd last year in the afternoon! The Brownsboro store was closed Xmas eve last year but will be open this year!

Both stores will be closed on Xmas and reopen Saturday normal hours

The Shady Lane Cafe will be closed early Christmas eve at 3pm and Christmas Day, as well as Sat,Sun.re-open on Monday with our regular hours. We also now have a new catering manager who was with one of the top caterers in town. We can do just about any menu and any style of catering. I was the Chef for the old Roppels Market/Catering in the past and did all the major parties in town, including the goveners breakfast, locust grove derby breakfast, the Browns, Barnstable, etc.. so those with any catering needs give Katie Feather, our new point person a call. Happy Holidays from Bill and Susi at the Shady Lane Cafe

Shawn, lots of Asian places stay open on Christmas. Vietnam Kitchen is a popular destination for both secular humanists and a few of us spiritual humanists. ;)

Thanks Robin
I'm looking for something simple for Grandma, and unfortunately she doesn't like Asian food.

That's going to be a problem then, Shawn. Try the larger hotel dining rooms. I expect places like the Seelbach and the Brown (assuming they're having special Christmas dinners) will probably be full, but maybe places like the Clarksville Ramada (for example) will be offering something simple that Grandma would like. Problem is, Christmas is one of the very few days of the year when not only the restaurant business but just about all businesses go dark.

Shawn, I don't want to cook either and just made reservations for my small crew at Blu Italian Grille downtown - 502.671.4285. (The English Grill is on a wait list and I presume the Oakroom is the same.) I've never eaten at Blu, but I'm guessing it's going to be a pretty mainstream buffet. It should appeal to (your) Grandma if she can maneuver a buffet & carving stations. And it's reasonably priced at only $19/per person.

We'll probably be open at Ray's a couple hours on X-mas day (good excuse to avoid the in-laws, haha). Probably noon-3 or so. We'll see how it goes.

Day after X-mas, Saturday Night, a special show featuring the Kimes Sisters http://www.myspace.com/tarakimes . Also on that bill will be Thomas Burgo. Here's from their flyer: ...And this guy http://www.myspace.com/thomasburgos will be starting off the night. His name's Thomas Burgos, check out his tunes.

This should be a really fun night. Not only does Rays Monkey House support political activism and art, but they serve quality coffee/espresso, local beer, food w/ vegan and organic options, and are kid-friendly.

Happy holidays everyone!!

Limestone events (news release)

by Robin Garr » Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:25 pm

Limestone Restaurant Holiday Schedule

Limestone will be open for lunch 11:00-2:00 and dinner from 5:00-8:00 on Christmas Eve. We will be closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the 25th, 26th, and the 27th.

We still have openings available for New Years Eve. We will be offering our a la carte menu as well as a five-course tasting menu.

"SOUTHERN GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FORTUNE DINNER"
Chef Jim Gerhardt embraces the belief that enjoying good luck in the New Year begins with a celebratory dinner that features dishes purported to bring good fortune. "Many diverse cultures throughout the world are rich with traditional "lucky" foods, such as grapes, greens, fish, pork, legumes and cakes. I think we could all use a lucky boost as we go into 2010, so I created a menu that brims with good fortune foods and plenty of Southern inspiration and flavors."

The menu, which will be served New Years Day and Saturday, January 2, includes:
Black-eyed pea cakes, a perennial Southern favorite, served with
house smoked bacon and a farm fresh egg
Roast Angus beef tenderloin over rice and a five bean and lentil demi sauce, reflecting the multi-cultural belief of legumes' lucky powers
Collard greens, folded like money, to encourage wealth and prosperity
Corn bread pudding with sweet cream icing, a nod to Southern tradition, and assorted grape coulis
(grapes being a "lucky" food in much of the world)
We will offer the menu on New Years Day from 4:00-8:00 and Saturday Jan. 2nd from 5:00-10:30. Our regular dinner menu will be offered as well.

The cost of the dinner is $20.10 per person. Reservations may be made by calling 502.426.7477.

Limestone is located at:
10001 Forest Green Boulevard
Louisville, KY 40223
Phone: 502.426.7477
Fax: 502.426.7479
