I complete agree with Robin.....David, your insights in this are very intersting, but may I encourage you to join in the other aspects (and Good God there are many) of this forum. Your apparent knowledge of wine is a fasanating aspect to me, as one of my "personal goals" is to become more versed in the ways of the grape.

And as one who has in the past jumped a "newby" for a glowing review and it being exposed that it was "inside job", I very much understand Stephen's concern (and candor) on being a bit protective of our ground (with, of course, Robin's moderation)...Our core group of die-fast foodies can tend to be (myself included) a bit mouthy and are not afraid to let our opinions fly at will.

David, please don't be a stranger....and if you find an interesting string, chime in.....I've found that I keep this up all day at work, and take mini breaks to get my fix during my day....
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

I absolutely mirror these sentiments...

Sometimes pretty words can be both blessing and curse. If you were to hear the words I have written as I speak them, then you would know that I honestly wasn't being scathing at all!

Master Zoeller (look, I did it again!) get yourself in here and join our little pow-wow! (again) Your particular knoweledge/experience/skill set is exactly what this forum needs (maybe not so much there!)

Even those 4 sentences could be misinterpreted, lol! Trust me when I tell you I am just being candid and mean no harm...

The original post seemed fine to me, with one caveat: I'd say that if someone has any commercial ties to a business they're discussing, they should make full disclosure.

That statement would purely be in the interest of transparency. Disclosure beforehand is honorable and only puts ones posting at a higher level of respect and regard.

Cheers!

p.s. Yes, a regularly contributing wine expert would of course be a welcome addition here. Especially one that is also an experienced server. Hope you stick around. Great forum!
