And Dave - Kudos on the malted milk. That was incredible. I'm now inspired to keep some wort in the fridge so I can whip one up when needed.

Thanks Ryan. Jesse actually came from the chefing world and is a man of many talents.

I've tried many ways to preserve the first runnings extract for serving later; at refrigerator temps it sours very fast and frozing changes the liquid make-up, it kind of breaks down.

I thought I spotted you guys on one of the clips on tv. I couldn't get the kids moving quick enough to join in the festivities.

We used to do these in college before football games. The food and the beer were nowhere near as good as what you all had, but we used the tagline Kegs and Eggs (trademark pending :) ) for ours. 7AM tailgating for the Buckeye's was fun in its day, but I don't think I could handle it now!

The Dayton-Xavier bball tipoffs this year are (I think) noon and 11am, so I've already made some kegs and eggs references to other Flyers in regards to the 11am game. I'm not much for eggs at all, so I've never officially participated in such. I did once witness the unfortunate meeting of a large amount of alcohol and a red-hot stove. Oh to be young and stupid again.

Now I'm sitting here considering how much better my AM drinking would have been if I had replaced Beast Light with a nice Breakfast Stout. Oh to be young, but smart.....

As for the Buckeyes reference, I'll just act like I never saw that.

Hmm, good point. I guess I didn't think that one through far enough. None the less, I'm still too intrigued to give up yet. How about pressure canning it? Next time we grab a beer you'll have to tell me about your various experiments...

I bet you still have it in you. You just need the right motivation. Oh, and you better get together with your trademark lawyer quickly. A guy I used to work with had a Kegs, Eggs, and Chicken legs party each year around derby. Sounds like if you move quick enough you could get him for infringement.

Don't worry, I allow Michigan fans to shop in the store. As a matter of fact, I give them a lot more attention as they need help reading the labels and adding up the prices

That's a pretty good one.

I'm actually an equal opportunity hater when it comes to OSU, UM, and ND. Not really sure why I had to hear so much about them - and their damn fight songs - on UD's campus.

The tiny little places in Spain that serve as coffee counters/bars/newstands always had signs in their windows advertising toast with either coffee or beer for breakfast.
I stuck with the thick black coffee most mornings.

I have a feeling your breakfast was much, much better.

When I was in New Orleans for the American Chemical Society national convention, I saw a lot of people having beer for breakfast. Admittedly, they were loitering outside of stores and asking for change...

You'd be surprised how early the convenience stores downtown wheel out the big ice bins filled with 24 oz silver and blue cans.

Give me a good breakfast stout any day.
