Well, I ended up going there tonight. I went with a crepe... chicken and brie to be exact. It was good but hard to eat. It was served in a cone sort of thing and then there was a paper around the crepe but it ended up sticking to the crepe so I had to dump it on the plate and eat it with a fork. Oh well. It had a good flavor besides all that. All the crepes are $6.99 and come with either a side salad, potato salad or Sun chips.

Well, I do love crepes, but that presentation certainly turns me off. Thank you Jenny. Now I won't waste my time going there.

What, just by one person's opinion??? She said the crepes were good. No wonder restaurants are struggling if people make up their mind that quickly whether to patronise a place or not.

I was thinking the exact same thing! It seems pretty rash to decide not to "waste your time" trying a place simply because the presentation of a dish is not what you would expect. Is that really all it takes for you to decide not to try a new place?!
I tried them last week as well and no the crepe wasn't what I expected but it still tasted good and the people there were really nice.

Tried it for lunch today, and all 3 of us LOVED it. We all had salads. I had the salad diva with salmon, strawberries, pecans, tomatoes, spinich, feta, tomatoes and dressing on the side. One person tried the Greek salad and never even used the dressing. The other had the salad Nicoise. We were all very happy and intend to put it on our lunch "rotation". Not the cheapest place we eat, but not totally out of range either. 6 thumbs up from us!

We ate there on Sunday, I had the Cobb and Jeff had the Nicoise (SP?). Delicious - and raves from me on the quality of their chicken. The only draw back - it was pricey, but I will definitely go there again.

If the owners are reading this - one recommendation. Your menu on the window should also include the "build your own" option (I think it's only on the back side). I saw a lot of people walk up, look at the menu, and then go to Shiraz. I think if they knew they could switch it up and have some control over cost, they might give it a try.

I ate there yesterday w/ Grandchild & vegan son. I got the veggie crepe. Very tasty. I didn't see a kids menu, and the little one didn't care for sharing my crepe. My son got a berry & yogurt crepe-- she did like that very much! Quick service, clean, and nice staff. Since I often end up w/ a $10 salad at whole foods, it didn't seem that pricey.

I did not think it was pricey at all either!

I just ate there tonight with my parents, and we shared two salads (Tuna Nicoise and Spinach Diva), one sandwich crepe (Atlantic salmon), a bowl of tomato bisque, and two dessert crepes (peanut butter banana and yogurt with berries). It cost us $38. VERY good! My favorites were the Tuna Nicoise, the bisque (comparable to Merdian's tomato soup) and the peanut butter banana crepe. All their dessert crepes are chocolate :-)

And all the crepes came on plates!

They are already coming up with ideas for more locations, preferably for the lunch crowd...Dupont was one idea.

We tried simply spledid salads a few weeks back and I was NOT impressed. I ordered a Cobb salad and the menu toted 'red pepper strips, fresh sliced avacado, cucumbers, etc. etc. etc.' I was sold at the fresh red peppers and avacados...however, when my salad was made they used green peppers not red peppers and put an avacado mush into the salad and mixed it around. Needless to say, there were no fresh avacados and red pepper strips....and the salad was covered in green goop (EW!) Cucumbers were omitted too for some reason. I asked the person taking my money about the avacado and expressed that I found the slime covered salad less than appealing. He told me that avacoados are not in season...sorry. I'm OK with an $8 salad if it is good....this however fell short...very, very short. I am a firm believer that if a menu states red pepper...I want red peppers, not green etc. I will not be returning for another salad....anytime soon..actually..ever.

Since I'm not a big fan of folks who come here and blast restaurants on their first post, I'll provide a different take.

Went yesterday for the first time. Had a chicken salad plate, which was nice, fresh greens served under a large portion of chicken salad. The CS was made of large cubes of chicken breast cooked properly so as not to be dry, mayo, celery, onion, and maybe a small amount of garlic (not sure about that). It was surrounded by chunks of pineapple, melon and strawberries. There was some bread in Reynolds wrap that I never opened, as well.

Overall, just fine. Priced about $8 for a healthy lunch option (there just aren't that many one can get in and out of in a half hour or so). You can also build your own salad, which I'll try next time. (Saw the crepes, and they looked quite good, too). Great service, very friendly folks.
