Yeah it must be terrible for those of you near a Boombozz to be there in 5 minutes and pick up your pie as opposed to those of us who would have to drive 25 minutes one way to get Boombozz

HA! I live in Fern Creek. I know the feeling all too well.....

I'm not sure they ever delivered to where I live at, but thankfully my girlfriend now lives just 1 block over on Edenside. Takeout is excellent for us.

I don't think people will have to worry about banning Transfat if 7 blocks to get a pizza sounds extreme.

Sheesh. I walk all over the neighborhood to dine at the local places, including Taphouse. I'm just saying, it's a pizza, ya know, that thing that historically is delivered, and still is by other Boombozz locations.

Further, until it was remodeled, that Boombozz delivered to us, and we were used to it. We're not fat, lazy slobs because of the fact that we would enjoy it if that location still delivered to us, and I never called it exteme. I don't think I'm in the wrong to voice my dissatisfaction at longer being able to get delivery. Your mileage may very.

Brad,

Hopefully, you did not take my statement as a personal affront. It was not meant to be one. I stated it was a fact; not attacking one person in a group.

We tried to order one of the new menu items last night for carryout, but a manager came to the phone to apologize that they were not ready to roll them out just yet.

That's disappointing. According to Robert, they started offering them today.

My verdict: The slices are huge. I called ahead, so I didn't know quite how big they were. It tastes very good. However, it is not quite what I think of as New York (or New Jersey) pizza. The edge of the crust is too thin (not the big doughy edge that I think of as NYC style)--the only problem that causes is the crust tends to break into a V instead of folding. In addition, the coating of parmesan, et al, seasoning makes it taste like Tony Boombozz pepperoni on a thin crust more than NYC pepperoni.

We had the Brooklyn Pizza slices yesterday and we thought it was the best Ny style pizza in the city! It was foldable and and tasted like the pizza we have had at Difara's in Brooklyn. Our opinion on Ny pizza is that even in NY there are different styles, so to say that they all have the same characteristics is not what we have experienced.

This is sort of off-topic, and I am by NO means an expert on NY Style, but we had a late night bite in Lexington Saturday night at Goodfellas, and it was some tasty pie. Orange oil, charred bottom, etc. I haven't had the Boombozz NY style yet, but this was better than the best I've had at Spinelli's (though I am a fan of Spinelli's).
