Matthew D~ My best friend (whom I met in Louisville) is originally from the grand town of Delphos!! I have been there many times. Too funny!!

Julia~It is hard for me to narrow my recommendations down!!! No one has mentioned BoomBozz Taphouse for pizza....great environment and yummy eats! And I am also surprised that no one has mentioned Ramsi's....one of my all time favorites! They have just about everything you could want on their menu...lots of ethnic dishes. We also have enjoyed lunches at Shiraz and Zaytun (sp??).

Enjoy your visit!!

Matt,
You got it in one! Piqua. You can imagine the miles we burn up driving south on I-75!

Okay Friends, you have been so helpful, here's the update...
We arrived in L'ville in time for lunch so headed straight away to Havana Rumba. I had the pork, my husband the Cubano sandwich and my son, another sandwich (I can't recall the name). Excellent! You did not steer me wrong. However, no one mentioned the HUGE portions. Holey moley! The yucca, black beans and rice, and sweet potato fries sadly did not get the play they deserved. All good.
After an afternoon of visiting the Frazier Museum ,the Glassworks, and a bit of wine shopping we sought a short respite at the hotel and then off for a late dinner at Palermo. Again, everyone's meal was swoon-worthy. I had the house specialty of chorizo, flank steak, short ribs and sweetbreads with a mixed vegetable salad. A bottle of La Linda Tempranillo '07 made for a tasty pairing, as would some of the malbecs on the list.
So, today is a clean slate. Seviche is the front runner for dinner, but we haven't decided on lunch yet. Someone recommended the Vietnamese Kitchen which is close to the Convention center..Indian cuisine doesn't sound bad either. I guess it will depend on what we'll do for sight-seeing. I have been poring over this post..so many wonderful suggestions! Thank you all!
Cheers!

Julia,

Glad you enjoyed Havana Rumba! I guess we did forget to mention that you should go with a big appetite...

And now..the rest of the story..
Saturday, after an hour or more of playing "Marty" (old film buffs will know the reference), we finally decided to go to the Viet Nam Kitchen. After much deliberation we each decided on our selection when a waitress strolled past our table with a sandwich on her tray..WAIT!! Much furious page turning by my son and husband to find it listed in the menu. Nada. They were turned on to Vietnamese subs at a VM restaurant in Columbus, and have talked about them ever since. When asked, the waitress admitted they were not listed on the menu. but could be had. My husband said it was the best thing he had put in his mouth so far! This, after Havana Rumba and Palermo. was quite a statement! I had the herbed duck, and my son ordered something from the traditional Vietnamese selections. Everyone was very pleased. Another slam dunk from the Louisville HotBytes team!

Dinner at Seviche was all that it was billed. The oyster-bacon-spinach-manchego appetizer, bison empenadas leading up to fabulous Chilean Sea Bass made for a memorable dining experience. A post-torential rain walk to Heine Bros. for lattes (where I fully expected to find a statue erected in honor of their patron saint, Robin Garr  ) wrapped up the evening.

Louisville rocked! We shall return!
Thanks!

Saffrons and Bistro301 were within walking distance for them... Pesto's has Persian (Fri night and Sat) too but a bit further.
