We shop at Hometown all the time. We love Old Town, too - but Hometown is consistently $3-$4 less expensive per fifth of top- and mid-shelf liquor. Hometown does not sell beer or soft drinks - that stuff is sold in Bombay, next door (same owners, own Dakshin, too).

No kidding! Apologies for correcting you, then, Brad. You've taught me something today. Never noticed that place. I'll check it out the next time I get my locks shorn at The Place To Go.

I think it may be where the gelato place was a few years ago.

Hometown Liquors is next to it, sharing an internal wall, on Bardstown Road. It sells liquor, wine, and a few assorted mixers only.

Yeah, I can vouch for it too. I've walked by it many times, but I've never actually been inside. If they have good prices on bourbon though, I think it might be time for a trip over there!

And you didn't even have to make a reference to the location of the "old Sears Store"

Thanks for the permission, Annemarie! :D It struck me funny that a merchant would offer a product as Italian as gelato without speaking even a little bit of the language. Although come to think of it, the owners of Café Glacé were Iranian ...

That's St. Matthews. This is the Highlands. Maybe we should start using the old Cherokee Dairy (now Asiatique) as a mysterious point of reference ...

Unfortunately, you could also mark that area with "You know where Cafe Metro used to be?"
