headin out the door to go set up. All Brew @ the Zoo goers should stop by for a taste of the KY Ale, Kolsch, Bourbon Barrel Ale, or our new Cream Ale. Yum.

I was busy in downtown NA and couldn't go, but I heard it was a tremendous turnout. The brew crew reckons we might have had a gallon of beer left at the end.

Yeah, BatZ was crazy this year. I'll second Jared's thoughts on the fest. We were 20-30 deep for the entire time we had beer (and that was with 2 of us pouring as fast as we could...). Unfortunately, I was unaware of the dramatic increase in tickets sold this year, so we ran out of beer at 6:45. But we got a great reception for our Oktoberfest (which was fresh, having been kegged last Tuesday. It only lasted about an hour and a half), Kolsch and Dry-Hopped APA. We also had a couple cases of 750s and poured through our case of Belgian Style Tripel in 10 minutes. 2008 Oak Aged Barleywine lasted maybe 5 minutes. Overall, it was a good time. Always fun to hang out with brewery folks. A finer collection of people you cannot find. Anyway, thanks to all who came out...

Funny how often that's happened at BATZ over the years. My personal opinion is that it's time for a renegotiation of the terms of engagement between the organizers and the brewers. We're always the very last ones to know, aren't we?

Huge turnout. We were out by 7! The KY Bourbon Barrel Ale kicked at 5:45. I wish I would have had 4 more kegs.

It was much more crowded. Tickets hadn't sold out a few days before which is unusual. Nice weather forecast helped. Usually really hot and steamy.
Alot more people outside of the tents than I remember too. Probably because the tents were wall to wall people. Gave up getting much more food or drink.
It might be better to set it up the way the Indy folks did. The vendors are in the tents facing OUT. Therefore we weren't jammed in so bad. Still too many people at that fest too.
I won't go back to Indy. No reason to. Zoo supporter but may not go back to this one. After awhile you're just trying to drink any beer.
I think I prefer a more civilized setting. My age is showing. But it was a Highlands/Cherokee type of event. Lots of older, aging hippies and the younger crowd. Good food, drink, and music. Nice mix.

Worthy event, worthy cause -- no doubt. We poured almost six full kegs of beer, which if vended in our own pubs would pull in a couple grand. In return, we got four worker passes from Brew at the Zoo and a pat on the rump.

Four people to work that whole crazy event? It's insanity.

That's the iceberg's tip, and the part that annoys me today.

No sir, a leg lamp is a major prize, not an award.... Of course I bought that major prize at Rite Aid last Christmas.... waiting for this year to surprise the wife with it in the front window.

Todd, I hate to correct you in such a public forum, but according to the dad in "A Christmas Story", a leg lamp is, in fact, a major award. I saw one once and contemplated buying it just for the kitch value. But, couldn't justify the money for what amounted to a joke...
