Actually, I usually drink porter or stout. Not that it matters. I stand by my point that there are some people this drink might suit.

I eagerly await the release of Coors 46.

And by "eagerly await" I mean "dread".

An interesting and somewhat related beer story. Several years ago A/B test marketed a beer called Micholob Golden Draft Light in a five state area of the upper mid west (MN, WI, ND, SD, IA). The beer promptly began outselling their "flagship" beer (Bud Light). A/B soon found themselves in the unenviable position of (a) not being able to expand the market for this beer (Can't have a product out there that outsells your flagship beer) and (b) having a product that was so wildly popular that they couldn't remove it from the test market. McGDL is today (still) one of the more popular beers in the upper midwest and in many markets (The Twin Cities for example) outsells all other A/B products.

I usually bring back 6 or 8 cases every time I'm in "The Cities"...It's not bad stuff on a hot summer day or when you want something "light" that won't knock the bejezus out of you.

Maybe they should stick to that instead of trying to brew beer. They might actually be good at running amusement parks.

That would never work, pretty soon they'd be putting you in old soap box cars and pushing you down a slight grade and tell you it was a roller coaster. Only AB could water down an amusement park...

Because we refuse to carry any AB products, AND also refuse to carry any "light" beers, definitely don't look to find the mega-swill at Ray's...

Cheers,

(I thought Bud already had a light beer. They should just bottle water and slap a bud sticker on it. Maybe that is next)

But tap water's even cheaper, Nimbus -- and it has more flavor.

At our beer festival this year, one of the volunteers jokingly put a tag on one of our water coolers that said "Budweiser" When I went around to refill all of the coolers, they were all nearly empty except for the one that said Budweiser. The volunteer said he had two people use that one it to rinse out their glasses!

I drink my fair share of cheap swill but I have no desire to try this stuff.

I find it amusing that there's a market for this. Im sure the "active" people drinking it are the same ones who order an 18oz steak and cheese fries with ranch for dinner, then order a diet coke because a regular coke has too many calories.
