What are your old places?

My favorites for breakfast in town:
1) Toast. I like the vibe, the food, the fact that it's downtown.
2) North End. I like the vibe, the food, the outdoor dining in the right weather.
3) Lynn's. Don't like the biscuits, but like most of the rest of it. You have to go there at least once.

I will definitely 2nd NEC. It's been a breakfast standard of mine since it opened. Not been to Toast but have been to Lynn's. I like NEC better. Right now my fave is Blu's breakfast buffet. I will be there tomorrow morning around 8:30 if anyone would care to join myself and a coworker. I have some 15% off coupons in hand to share. :D
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Thanks - the mention of the Twig and Leaf brings back memories of my hard drinking "younger days". I always thought the food was pretty good, but I'm not sure I ever had it sober.

It's still outstanding.

Blue Dog is one of the best places in Louisville, period. Breakfast, lunch, bakery, patisserie, etc., it is the best. I love that place.

Lynn's has a great breakfast. I love their pancakes and their assorted egg dishes and I do really enjoy their biscuits.

Another really great place in New Albany is A Nice Restaurant. (That's it's real name.) They bake their own bread and so toast with eggs is awesome; but they have incredible French Toast on their home baked bread. Good place and pretty cheap too.

I second Sweet and Savory for a great breakfast, and if you're an early eater, you won't have much of a wait.

The one problem I have is the smell. I believe that they use bleach to clean, and the smell is often overwhelming. If they switched to a more diner-friendly smelling cleaner, I'd be there more often.

I also second Toast and Blue Dog.

As for Twig and Leaf, I've never been there when the food was good, and because I'm a mother with young children, I'm not one of the people eating in the middle of the night.

I'm glad someone else asked about Ninny's. Ninny's in New Albany is pretty good. I was thinking that there was one in Jeff that I didn't know about. Ninny's is on Main Street not far off I64. It's behind the Lancaster Cafe and next to Main Street UMC. For those who need this....it's on the same road as "The Boat" but in NA, about 8 miles away.

WE actually spent the night at the boat with some friends from LA and did not want to spend the money for just OK food. I met someone on the boat from Indiana who travels the US in search of diners! She is the one who said we should go and so GLAD we did-we will get back soon and try lunch! :D

Breakfast

We only eat breakfast out on the weekends. Can't ever get into Toast, which is okay by me, because I just don't think it's that great.

North End has good migas and I like their cornmeal pancakes. Again, though, if the wait is over 20 minutes, I don't think it's worth waiting for.

Grape Leaf has some nice breakfast items. Their spinach parmesan frittata is good, and their omelets are huge-they come with 3 fillings, plus you can add more if you pay extra. They have a smoked salmon/goat cheese omelet-haven't tried it yet, but it sounds good. They also have an a la carte brunch menu, where you can order 2 eggs any style for $1.95, and you get some pita and fruit garnish with it.

I like eggs benedict, and I wish I knew where to get it, besides KT's. I know it's bad for me, but I like it anyway!
