Most restaurant foods differ slightly (some significantly) from listed calorie counts, just because there are too many variables present. At fast food restaurants, many of those variables are removed, but there could still be different suppliers sourcing the ingredients in different regions. At other restaurants, the most common difference is the amount of salt/butter/oil/cream/etc. that goes into a recipe...each chef makes things a little differently, and an extra tablespoon of oil can add over 100 calories and 10g of fat.

You know, you're actually talking about a real forumite's real boss. Funny? Maybe. Seems closer to crude to me.

Recognizing that Laura was not being serious, I answered in that vein. Note Laura's subsequent response. I don't think I was in the least bit crude.

Robin, you know i thought the initial post was a joke as well. I still can't tell if it is a serious investigation or just messing around.

I looked at the 1000+ calorie section of the list. Y'know, I don't there's a single item there for a vegan like me. I guess I'm missing out.....boohooo....

(not seriously sad. Rather just glad that I've never had any of that stuff, or even thought about having it). Ick! And we wonder why our life expectency is so low in the US....

Cheers...

(serving veggie burgers by Boca at Ray's, I think they're a couple hundred calories. We will put some cheese on 'em (regular or soy) if you want to up the calorie count.....). The bread probably adds another hundred or so calories (just guessing)

Wow--there is a lot of variance in calories across regions on these. That is weird.

Those, and just about everything from DQ, Carl's Junior, and Hardees seem to comprise the top 100.
