Whoa. I surely hate this news. Just when I'd planned a visit for that highly rated Creme Brulee. :(

I know you'll find an outlet for your considerable talent. The cream always rises to the top!

Good luck.

If you hurry, you can still get one at either location!

Marsha,

I certainly know better than to weigh in on someones dismissal at a fellow establishment however I feel I must compliment you on your grace and class. I have been in this business forever and I have NEVER seen a dismissal handled with such gratiousness and class. If I was Lou Lou I think I would make every attempt to work things out with such an obvious valued employee. Your loyalty to the brand is obvious in every word you write and I know first hand what an excellent baker you are. Best of luck, I will keep my ears open and let Gary know if I hear of an opportunity for you. Deano

Thanks, Chef Dean. You'll never know how much your saying that means to me. I've been feeling pretty blue today, and that cheered me right up.

OMG! Seriously, one of the only reasons I think about CLL, is seeing Marsha's posts.

I don't even know you, but your passion and love for CLL makes me want to eat there.

You make me want to support your business and I'm shocked they've let you go.

Ma'am,
I've not had the pleasure of meeting you yet, but it is heartening to hear a someone take the high road as effectively as you. It takes guts and professionalism to set aside the short-term emotions that are probably there. You will never regret the way you are handling this situation.
Please keep the Forum posted as to where you land. I'm not a dessert person but my wife definitely is(!) and we'll make a point to check out your new digs.

Andrew, thank you. I really cherish all these positive responses, everyone.

Someone told me today to "keep my chin up". Today was a little rough for me - but I told that person that we've constructed an elaborate contraption that sort of supports my chin from underneath. It's scratchy and uncomfortable, but so far this weekend it's working. :)

I know that my husband James already commented on your situation on Facebook, but I want you to know that we will all sadly miss your Lemon Sunshine Cake, among your other delicious creations. Please keep us informed of where you land next. We'll be there! :)

Many thanks, Laura. I couldn't possibly think of landing anywhere without letting every one of my dessert fans know, so - stay tuned.

Michele, I somehow missed this announcement yesterday in the flurry of posts. Many congrats to you and Mike! I'd be honored to make you a Lemon Sunshine Cake for your shower, no matter what I end up doing. A new baby! How wonderful.

I also think I missed thanking a few people personally. Steve Shade, Mark R., Tom and Gina Holstein, Steve and Becky P and annemarie m, you have my heartfelt thanks.

Marsha -

I have not commented on your job loss until now because I did not want to do so while I was in the first thoes of being so P.O'd about it. I am really afraid I would not be as dignified in my reaction as you were. Please know Richard and I are totally upset about this and offer our support. I know you will land on your feet. Your posting and continuing support of Cafe Lou Lou shows you are a class act.

Marsha...

In circumstances like this, it sounds very cliche to say, "as one door closes, another will open"...but it's happened in my own similar experiences and it will for you as well...talented people always find new opportunities.
