And half off a few drinks, too. I think the house mojito and the house margarita.

We were there tonight for our anniversary. The place was really hopping.

Pita Delights. I love this place. Comfortable atmosphere, good location, friendly service... Get a nice sized gyro (lamb and beef combo hello), greek salad, and a side of hummus for under 10 bucks. Actually, two people could share it for an even better bargain.

What is everyone's definition of reasonably priced?

Mine is < $20 for an entree including a salad.

It's a moving target for me, Kyle. At an upscale place, I'll go along with Mark for the $20 entree, but add apps, salad, wine, dessert and tip and you've quickly moved through the $100 mark for a couple.

I feel like a place is truly "reasonable" if I can have a full dinner and wine or other tasty libation for two for $60 or so plus tip.

And I'm not at all averse to going the taqueria or downscale Asian route for $30 a couple plus tip, maybe even a little less if you go with tea or soft drinks rather than beer.

I agree with Robin. If I can go somewhere by myself (which I do often) and throw down for around 20$ I am happy. That's either an app, entree, and a non alcoholic drink or one entree and two beers for 20 bucks = I'm happy. A perfectly reasonable price to treat myself.

My sister and I had a pseudo feast last summer at Vietnam Kitchen for under 40 dollars. But for a couple I again agree with Robin that 60 dollars is reasonable for a couple. But VK, in all its awesomeness, was a rare home run IMO.

I didn't go back and look, but I think I qualified the cheaper place as being less than $20 per person. I dont' mind dropping $100 for a couple many nights, but alot of times we are looking just to grab a quick lunch or dinner ....not have a dining experience.

The suggestions are going great. Keep them coming! I"m such a nerd that I'm actually making a list! :D

Crazy list person myself so don't feel goofy...

Steven's and Steven's is a great spot for lunch if you like pastrami and corned beef.

If you skip the booze Come Back Inn is always reasonably priced. The won tons are a great app. They have closed for lunch but dinner can be had for under 30.

Flabby's in Germantown is a great, cheap local cafe meets sorta dive bar minus the scumbags. Greasy stuff but you won't forget the atmosphere.

I'm gonna go way out here and proclaim the Granville Inn (Third and Lee?) as having the best cheeseburger in the city. Sort of a college bar (I suppose it is a college bar) but a great spot for lunch. Really, the burgers rule here.

In a close second in the burger race would be Flanagan's on Baxter Ave. It would be hard to skip the beer as they are known for their huge selection of drafts and bottles but you can pull off lunch for just over 20 bucks if you have soda or tea and no apps. But the cheese sticks are insane. Three eye grabbing, buttery loaves of soft yet slightly crusty bread stuffed with warm ricotta. Hard to resist...

Meridian Cafe in St. Matthews is a great lunch spot, reasonably priced.

I don't know if they are open for lunch, but the Back Door Lounge's Blackend Chicken Club (located in Mid-City Mall) is phenomenal. Kind of a crusty locals joint (but the best bargains on booze in the Highlands), but this sandwich alone is worth the trip.

The Granville is definitely good, but also definitely bar food. It's on Third before you get to Lee (my wife lived at Third and Lee when she was college). I agree on the cheeseburger, and their pizza is pretty good too.

Since you mentioned Vietnam Kitchen, I have to throw out Annie Cafe on Woodlawn. Their entrees are about on par with VK, but if you're a fresh spring roll person like me then you have to go to Annie. Theirs are hands down the best in town.

If you haven't been to Dairy Kastle on Eastern Parkway, then you have to stop by there for milkshakes sometime. Their brats are also delicious, and their tacos in a bag are truly an experience. (I do love them though.)

If you're going for Indian, then you have to try out Bombay Grill. It's on Hurstborne near the Shelbyville Road intersection, and their lunch buffet is fantastic. Make sure to go on the weekend if you can, because that's when they usually spice the buffet more to the tastes of their Indian clientele.

What does one consider reasonable?

Hmmmmm.....definitely depends on the type of place you're going to.

I pulled up a menu from SF (on Haight!) that I think is reasonable. I could be in and out of there for five bucks!!!!

http://www.menupix.com/menudirectory/menu.php?id=100022

Our grilled cheese with Avo and tomatoes at Ray's is four bucks. That is reasonable. I know some places would charge double. (we may raise our prices soon..heeheee)
