If you go to Maido ask for the server Lindsay. She's just in from Seattle. She's great and eager to build up her business. CD

I'd like to throw us into the mix. especially East Side convenience. Selena's at Willow Lake Tavern has a beautiful patio and 2 tiered fountain/fish pond, pretty good chicken and dumplings too, when available

Glad you chimed in Chris, for some reason I totally spaced the fact they you have that great patio! And of course your food is always great. Matter of fact my wife and some of the other preschool teachers she works with are coming over for lunch today and we were talking about the fact it would be nice day to sit outside.

BTW, we enjoyed the wonderful Mothers' Day brunch at Selena's (the Eggs Benedict were excellent)...

Don't forget the Irish Rover on Frankfort. I like the way their patio sits up and away from the sidewalk.
And I haven't been out that way in a while but did anything ever go into the old Azalea's location?

A pass by on my bike today reminded me that I had left Third Avenue Cafe off of my original list. That sidewalk corner there is huge, and TAC makes good use of it. I like sitting at the tables closest to the road on 3rd.

It's not East End (OP's preference) and I like the lunch menu better than the dinner menu, but I thought I should add it to the list.

There is live music every Friday and Saturday on Carly Rae's patio from 7 to 10pm (we go inside if it rains). This weekend it is Tyrone Cotton on Friday and Scott Henderson on Saturday.
I know this is a food forum, but what's better than food with live music! (and beer, of course)
I've played every patio in Louisville and Carly Rae's is one of the best.

Not to stir the smoking ban pot, but we dined at the Sol Aztecas on Frankfort Ave. It wasn't my idea mainly because I'm not that into the cookie cutter mexican joints. Upon arriving, we asked to sit outside. I had no idea what I was in for. I could not even focus on the food because at least 5 of the ten tables outside were all smoking. I get that the outside patio has become a de facto smoking area, but I guess I expected more out of the Frankfort Ave area and what I had heard about the restaurant.

I think being a smoker or non-smoker is not even the issue. Smoking around where someone is eating is disgusting. Period. And I won't eat at a place that doesn't honor its patrons with a smoke free environment inside and out.
