Agreed. There are some really neat places in there.

another option for you

I really don't know your budget, but in reading your wants look up:

4303 Twin Elms Court

It's in the Woodstone subdivision, roughly half way between the Snyder and the Watterson, off Brownsboro Road / rte 42 (the only flashing yellow light). The house looks traditional from the outside, but is very contemporary inside. Has 1.6 acre lot (partial fall-away) with walkout basement.

I know it because I live nearby; I'm not affiliated with owner, realtor, or anyone else. I was in it when it was being built.

The location is great, with downtown 15 minutes away, restaurants galore (Holiday Manor area, Clifton a ten minute drive, Corbett's a five minute drive, Westport Village five minutes a different direction, river five minutes north), shopping nearby (Holiday Manor, Summit, et al)

It's priced competitively (a smaller house in subdivision recently sold for more than their asking price), but it IS "upper-tier". Fun to see, in any case.

PM me if want more details.

Phil -

Arbor Ridge Vine & Grill is another dining option in Oldham County. Located in Crestwood, we draw from all over Oldham County, Eastern Jefferson County and the Cresent Hill/Mockingbird Valley areas . We are 1 mile off I 71 at exit 14; along the 329 By-pass making us 15 minutes or less to all of these areas. Over the past 10 months we have acuired a strong core following and have new faces being introduced daily. Consider giving us a try as you look around the area. Our menu is on our website http://www.arborridgevineandgrill.com

Best of luck as you search for a new home!

I vowed not to do that to some one again. Even though I had bought close to 10 buildings with her for my business, my realtor was dragged through the mire as we looked for a home rather then an investment property. When we are more focused with what we want, I will contact some one. Again, finding a very modern unique property is difficult anywhere in the Midwest. The mini-mansion in a sub division is what most people want and what most builders develop in the Midwest. To make it all the more difficult, we want something uniquely different probably solely designed by an architect. We are a pain the keester!

It SOUNDS like you're a pain in the keester...but it's your money, and it will be your house, so get what you want....if you're very specific about the type of house you want, it simply may come down to buying some acreage and having something built....more time-consuming (and may/may not be more expensive), BUT you're more likely to wind up with what you want, rather than compromising...good luck.

Thanks for all your help. We now have a problem with our house in Wisconsin concerning the acreage!
Thus, things have been put on hold...........................
I guess we'll just go to Le Relais tonight and enjoy the Duck Confit.
When we are ready to buy, Oldham County looks like it will fit our needs. I am nervous about Le Grange in that Donna's office is downtown where all the hospitals are and the drive from Rebel Ridge Road may be too far for her to do every day with the traffic and all..................

If one is accustomed to driving downtown from Bardstown Rd, St Matthews, or even Prospect, then the idea of commuting from LaGrange may seem daunting; but I've done it for years and it really isn't bad...there's usually about a 60-minutes window (from about 0715-0815) when traffic can be a little sluggish, but before or after that timeblock it tends to be fairly smooth all way into downtown.
