Well after being offline for three weeks working on computer/modem issues, this was actually the rant that I had been holding onto for when I could get back on here. So right now I am laughing to already find it towards the top of the forum :) Years ago friends and I would go to Rocky's a couple of times a month for lunch. When we weren't able to go as often due to various life changes, I started to make it an event for my birthday. I had really noticed especially the last three or four years the quality really start to go downhill. Last year it was (what I had thought) as terrible as it could get, but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that it coincided with prom night. This time I really was thinking towards other choices but as we had the last minute addition of my young nieces and nephew decided to give it another go. After an hour wait we finally got a table. The server put two bags of bread on the edge of the table along with two plates of cheese (without the rest of the preperation), and then disappeared for twenty minutes. After about 15 minutes I gave up and finished it myself to keep the kids from attacking the plates due to hunger. After the server finally returned we managed to get our appetizer and salad about 35 or 40 minutes after being seated. Everything Annemarie pointed out regarding the salads certainly stood out in my mind, it used to be one of my favorite parts of the meal but this time I took only a small portion and didn't even finish it. The bowl for a large table consisted of mostly iceberg lettuce with only a few small pieces of other vegetables. When we eventually got our pasta, it was all very overcooked and bland. It saddens me to find a place that has always held such great memories for me to have changed this much, but I will be looking for a new venue to have dinner with my friends for next year's birthday.

Thank you Gayle and Robin! :) For the first few days I took solace in the fact that I could at least look at the forum on my phone...that was until it had an unfortunate meeting with a water puddle lol. At least my luck seems to be turning around, I bet on Mine That Bird to win :D  8)

I can't call it "Rocky's" anymore. Rocky's was a great little mostly pizza joint accross from Jeffboat. This other place is not Rocky's, despite having acquired the naming rights. The real Rocky's is dead, may it rest in peace.
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
