I work with David--he's a great guy, and, if he ever decides to go down the mayoral route, could do wonders for the city, I think.

I haven't been to the new place and probably never will.

However, listening to the Francene show WHAS, it is obvious that did not spend all of that money inside that place. Painted and removed some of the bowling lanes, and some other cosmetic work was apparently the extent. No telling what they are doing with the rest. And we will never know, because there will be no accounting available.

I'd love to see it, Brad, but in one of the many little unanticipated effects of Merger, I think he might have a tougher campaign in a county-wide election than he would have in the old city.

I don't disagree, especially since he has devoted his efforts, and rightly so, to his constituency in the downtown, Old Louisville, Smoketown, Butchertown, Portland, etc. etc. areas. His efforts, credentials, intelligence, and great personality are likely not as well known "outside the Watterson."

Still, IF he decided to take that step someday, I think he could make a VERY good run at things. He has that "gatherer" personality about him, and does a great job framing the issues facing the city.

He's also perceived as "liberal," a moniker that plays MUCH better in much of the "old city" than in the 'burbs. Speaking as a generalization, with the understanding that there are exceptions; voting records consistently show it.
