Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza. D Barry

I love the way Roger compared Dave to A-Rod in that Tribune story. Any day now, I look for him to get all 'roided up and start dating Madonna, then choke in the playoffs.

Upon further reflection, I'd withdraw the A-Rod reference for the reasons cited. The reason I try to communicate in writing is so I'll have the chance to edit myself! My first impulse was to compare it with Reggie Jackson signing with the Yanks in 1977, but I thought that no one would know who I was speaking of!

I immediately thought of the picture spread that A-Rod did, and pictured David puckering up to himself in the mirror..... and then immediately ran into a wall to clear my head.

Then there's the whole steroids issue. Geez, I hate telephone interviews.

Dave's a wirey enough guy, the 'roids probably wouldn't be that bad on him.

He'd probably end up looking like Popeye, only with a beer in hand instead of spinach.
Which may or may not be a bad thing.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

Saw Matt at the Tap Room yesterday - one of our hangouts for Thunder. Congratulated him on his new role at the BBC.
