Mexican beer is my friend, but no margaritas?

They do not have the necessary liquor license to carry alcohol. They do have a beer/wine license, but only carry beer.

I was bugged that I gotta pay for chips and salsa. It was good but not light years better than what's available at most places on the KY side of the river. If I'm in New Albany great - but I'm not driven from the east-end routinely.

I have been a HUGE fan of La Rosita since it opened. Probably eaten there 10 times. However, the service is becoming so bad that its barely tolerable. I went for lunch 2 weekends ago and the Mayan quesadilla was fantastic, but I never had my drink refilled and had trouble getting a check. I raved about the quesadilla so much that my wife wanted to go for dinner with our 2 year old son last Friday. BIG MISTAKE. They were somehat busy, but we were seated within 5 minutes. I asked for a high chair and was told they didnt have one, to which I said we always use one when we are here. Eventually I was able to find a booster myself. Then we sat and sat and sat while two tables seated after us had drink orders taken. I went down to the counter and asked for a server, and after about 5 more mnutes someone was sent over. My wife and I both ordered Mayan quesadillas (chicken, black beans, plantains, avocado, onions, cheese) and chorizo and eggs for our son. The quesadillas came out with no avocado (crucial) and our sons chorizo and eggs followed 10 MINUTES LATER. Since this was the first time we saw our server since our quesadillas were delivered, we asked for and were brought a plate of sliced avocado.

Since the quesadillas are so good, we will give it another go...but only for lunch or on week-nights

We too have been there a few times, but this was the reason that we stopped going as well. Service is overlooked a bit. The food is awesome, it really is. But, we also like to have our drinks topped off, and some preferences that we ask for are overlooked. And paying for chips and salsa.....was one of the things that really bothered me. Most traditional Latino places you don't pay for your chips and salsa.
