I have been informed by the staff that Fernando (the owner) is leaving in a few weeks because of partnership problems and that Mojitos and Havana Rumba is being sold to an outside party.

That's a pretty big bomb to drop with post #1. I hope this is a bad joke.

I have Emailed the Martinezes and invited them to comment. I also notice that Mr. or Ms. Barger's Email address does not match the last name on the post. Might not mean anything, but I would repeat that the use of real names in this forum is done on the honor system.

Mr. Garr,

My email adress is was my married name but now I go by my maiden name, should I change my email address to my my maiden name? I am not trying to start a rumor, I was just commenting on Seviche and how much I have appreciated this forum. It was the staff that told me about Fernando leaving.

JD, apologies. However, allow me to explain: You posted a startling development in your first post as a member of the forum. You posted it WITHIN A DISCUSSION that involved a false rumor, and a discussion in which I had made note that past false declarations about Seviche's status had been made by anonymous participants. At that point, I'm afraid my cynicism went into high gear, and I noticed that your user name was a bit unusual in that it contains first initials, not a name, and that the apparent last name of your Email address did not match your user name.

Yes, at that point, I should have asked you rather than being accusatory, and for that I apologize. But like a lot of other people, I was horrified to learn this news - particularly without the context that Fernando later provided - and I'm afraid I shot from the hip.

A belated welcome to the forum, and again, please pardon my well-intended but off-base sleuthing.
