Re: LEO/LHB: Sake Blue is on a roll - lots of rolls

Too cool Laura! You tried the other rolls we debated about trying, especially the Temptation roll. We loved the atmosphere as well... a bit classy without being stiff and the music wasn't overbearing.
Anybody up for an off line there? If not it'll take me 4 or more trips just to try everything I want and I am WAY to impatient for that!

I checked the offline planner and did not see a Sake Blue thread. Any chance this offline is going to happen? My wife and I have not made any of the offlines as yet but would love to meet everyone while enjoying sushi.

I'm not really sure how to go about this. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm sure the restaurant would be up for it as long as it wasn't a weekend night or penny sake night.

Basically, an offline can happen any time a group of forumites can agree to get together, and someone volunteers to set it up. This would involve calling the restaurant (Sohee Lacey, one of the owners, is on the forum, so that would be easy); setting a date and time, and taking roll. And I do mean sushi roll. :)

I'll take 2 rolls thank you! Gayle just PMd me and I think we'd be very happy to get this ROLLING along. (sorry) I guess I need to start a new thread under offline planning?

I've started a new thread on the "Off Line Planner" forum. Please let me know what you folks think. Many thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. I posted the following message on the Offline Planner forum, but I'll post it here just in case people check this more often. In response to Carla's suggestion to have a Sake Blue offline event:

**********************
Hello Carla & fellow Hotbyters. I’m one of the managers at Sake Blue, and we’re all very excited to welcome the offline event at our restaurant. After much discussion between the chefs and my family, we’d like to do a couple of special things for the forum members.

In addition to people ordering off the menu (sushi, bistro, teppanyaki), Chef Jack will make a couple of complementary signature dishes that may or may not be offered on our regular menu. These “tasting” dishes will be fun and interesting, and will definitely be unique to Sake Blue. We will also offer a tasting of our premium organic cold sake that will be a crisp & refreshing complement to the dishes.

Mondays (preferable) or Wednesdays would be the best nights of the week for us. We just need to know how many people will attend so that we can prepare on our side. Hope we can get a great turnout!

Sohee, it's so nice of you and your family to make such a generous offer.

Mondays are generally good for the forum, too, because that makes it possible for some of our folks who work at other restaurants to be here.

Once we set a date, then it's just a matter of people signing up, and at some point before the actual event we'll have a good sense of a total. In the past, offlines have varied from 10 people or less to about 50, so there is quite a range!

Carla has posted a thread on this under Off-Line Planner.
I suggested Mon June 16th.

The offline to Sake Blue is on, but the date is not finalized. Please go to the "Offline Planner," "Sake Blue Offline Poll" and cast your vote. The poll will close May 21.
