Ok, is it me or did anyone else find the picture of the seal (joke or no) quite distasteful? Very sad....sorry.

The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Yeah I'm sorry but that crossed the line into unfunny real fast.

OK, I deleted it. Sorry for exposing the reality of the Canadian fishing industry.

For those who did not see the pic....a photo of a fisherman walking near a seal on the ice(no blood and guts in pic) carrying a club. Caption read "warranty void if seal broken".

It was intended to be a light hearted jab at a pretty messed up fishery.

When U of L went to the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise in 1999 ( I think) we went with the advice of the bellman.

I do not remember the name of the restaurant ( Senior moment, CRS Disease) But it was in an American Legion or a VFW club. The menu was Basque based. We were served a Vegetable soup, tossed salad, I had sliced roasted Lamb and my Dad had the shank which was the size of a softball on the end of the bone , steamed vegetable sides ( Cauliflower-Broccoli-Brussel sprouts- Cabbage), fresh made rolls and a dessert. With a bottle of Rose that they selected that was among the best I have ever tasted. The bill for 2 including wine was $37.00 plus tip. The other people on the tour paid over $40 apiece for the hotel food.

Made up for the fact we froze our rear ends off and Boise State wiped the Smurf Turf there with the Cardinals team.
