18 holes of golf with my wife to enjoy the nice weather. Then on to Shenanigans for rubens and beer.

Same here, now for the delicious leftovers.....Rubens for lunch/hash for breakfast.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Salad (home grown leaves) with leftover shrimp & wheatberries, while at work. We try to avoid leaving the house except when necessary the weekend before and on the actual St Patrick's day because when we return home, we can never find parking. (We live in the Original Highlands.) Last night when I returned home at 11:10 there were no parking spots that I could find within 2-3 blocks of any direction from my house. The one empty spot on my street had a resident standing in it, holding it open for someone. Finally my husband spotted someone leaving, stood in the spot and called my cell until I made it back.

I am glad that the bars on Baxter get so much business and everyone has a great time during the parade and such, but this week is always a nightmare for those of us who live here. Loud folks on the streets and in the alley yelling until at least 1am (when I finally dozed off), honking horns, no parking, beer cans in my yard (only two this year- an improvement from last year. I've also got a small collection of glasses from the bars that people walk off with and then deposit in my yard.)

St Patrick's day is anything but a holiday for us! I am glad to see it gone.

I decided to take the scenic route through the Irish strip of Baxter on my way home from work yesterday. It only took me about thirty minutes to get through the six blocks. Overall not worth it. Then I got home to my neighbors having night 2 of St. Paddy's raging best while I tried to work peacefully, to no avail, on the other side of the wall. I'm done with it, too. St. Paddy's is no fun unless you're participating right along!

I made a Irish beef stew and some brown soda bread and a green salad. We then enjoyed eating it outside.

A hot, messy, juicy, crusty and oh so good Reuben at Shenanigans. It probably helped that I was awfully hungry or maybe the spirit of the day, but it tasted awesome.

Wow - I was at Shenanigan's as well. I saw Anderson, but don't know what Wes P looks like. We should have all been wearing HotBytes hats or something.

I had an excellent fried fish sandwich on rye, a few Guinesses. I wish I could have had the 18 holes as well.

With 3 weddings (2 family related), 2 college graduations (both our kids) and several birthday parties all coming up, I am on a mission to lose weight! As such, I have resorted to the low carb approach (under doctor's supervision). that said, I stayed in (at my age, St Patty's stuff is amatuer night and I would rather not get creamed by a drunk driver!) and fixed grilled lamb burgers topped with dubliner cheese and sauteed mushrooms and onions. Man, I missed my St Brigid's Oaten Bread!!!
