I ran into HORRIFIC delays (flight canceled, rebooked, rebooked flight canceled, rebooked again, rebooked flight delayed 5+ hours, arrived home finally around 3am this morning) while laying over in Atlanta on my way home from California. The airport was gridlocked, and all the crappy sit down places had lines going for forever, and I was enroute to Mandarin Express for a quick bite of something when I remembered at the last second this place. Since I had 4+ hours to kill, I hopped the train over to Terminal E and One Flew South.
This place is really good. I started with sushi and a great gin based cocktail, followed by a nice glass of Pinot and the best pork belly dish I've ever had (thyme roasted pork belly served over black-eyed pea arugula salad with parsnip puree and blackberry onion marmalade). This dish was fantastic - crunchy on the outside and melted like butter on the inside. I finished with a french press Sumatran coffee that was also quite impressive.
The service was good, though a bit disjointed. The food, cocktail, and wine lists were all thorough and inventive. The beer selection was somewhat lacking, though solid.
If you're stuck in the Atlanta airport and have time, take time to try OFS (
