Thanks, Annemarie. I just re-read my post - I think I ended no less than 3 sentences with the word "here." See - room for improvement for me - need to work on sentence structure. Ug.

I'm back, but just thought I would give the forum a rest. Had a grand time at Seviche Wednesday and Lou Lou's last night. The food was scrumptious and I met some wonderful folks at both places. I don't think I am really as horrific or monstrous as some people have felt. I just enjoy spirited and intellectual debate. I was actually frightened going to Seviche and Lou Lou's as I thought some folks might be confrontational, and Donna would have no conceptual idea what was happening. She is used to me being controversial, but my friends expect and actually look forward to my "spice." I will attempt to be more "mellow" in The Ville.

Phil,

You no idea how much I hold back on this forum. I've had my life threatened by people on other boards. You're doing just fine.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

There have been many times on this forum that I would love to unload with both barrels. Then I take deep breath, remember that I run a business that thrives on people coming into the store without needing to know my opinions.... then I unload with just one barrel

Just be yourself, Phil....and you seem like a guy who's comfortable doing that very thing....if you ruffle an occasional feather or two, so what -- we're on this board discussing food and restaurants...not national security.

Another welcome back to Phil, and a gentle observation that this is not a forum where a lot of fights break out. Our real names policy helps with that, and so does our shared commitment to good food and drink.

Just, a reminder that I am hosting a "Welcome to Kentucky" gathering for Phil and Donna this Sunday. Looks like there is room for one or two more, PM me if you would like to join us.

I am also glad to have Phil back. To me, this forum wouldn't be as much fun without the debates. We'd all be sitting around, agreeing with each other. Like 'Dallas' without J.R. getting shot. Of course, somethings demand agreement, like the virtues of Lou Lou's shrimp and grits. Nothing wrong with that. I do enjoy the fact, though, that this is a crucible for ideas, both similar and separate.

(ching! Quarter in the piggy bank for use of the word 'crucible')

I look forward to meeting you guys Sunday!

P.S. Strangely enough, a NYer was at my bar for dinner last night. I had to ask him if he was you, Phil. He used the phrase 'my problem with' and spoke of how his wife's food dislikes had become his own. Uncanny, really...
