The chapeau of your choice! We'll even accept gimme caps, but fair warning, when we hand out the prizes at the end of the evening, gimme caps will not gather a lot of points for creativity. Unless there is something very unusual about them. :)

(Perhaps we should also have a People's Choice category for Best Hat Hair.)

I think we have a winnah!!! Would you consider a Saturday lunch, Anthony, when most people are off work?

Anthony Lamas wrote:I love hats! So, If you would like, I would love to host this. I would even be willing to open up for a lunch, if that worked better. Also, remember from 5-7 Tue.-Thur. we have 1/2 off Apps. If 5-7 does'nt work that's fine, I would do something special for the forum crew anyways. let me know! I could have my staff wear hats too. Anyways, sounds like a fun time.

As always buen provecho y muchas gracias

I like that idea even more than the hat prize. Gary'd be up for that one for sure.

Lunch, I think. Remember that the entire purpose here is to BREAK the rules, not to live slavishly by them.

Okay, please let's take pity on those of us in the biz....our current offline is on a Saturday afternoon, can't we make this one either a Sunday or Monday so us poor cooks can better attend? (I'm done with my duties early enough so I can attend either way, but I'm thinking of the poor line cooks and servers among us)

edited because evening is not any better for line cooks and servers unless it's Sun or Mon

I'll have to see the date the event is scheduled for (oh no, it's bad writing etiquette to end my sentence with a preposition!). I don't really keep the most regular hours, and I have a few trips planned around the upcoming Spring Break. But I hope to make it if I am in town.

I do look forward to meeting everyone at Flabby's this Saturday -- even those on the wrong side of the aisle.

I have a great beanie with a propeller around somewhere - might have to go search down the parents' house.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Very good points, Marsha, and insensitive of me to think only on the consumer side.

Hey, can I draft you to honcho the deal? Maybe work with Anthony and see what he can do that fits what would work for restaurant staff?

Man, I hate to say no, but I've got so many balls in the air right now....however, I'll do it if nobody else steps up, since I opened my big mouth.

But hey, you - yes, I mean you! I'm looking in your direction! You've got a few extra hours to make these arrangements, sort out the requests and opinions for dates and times, and square it all away with the charming Chef Lamas, don't you? Please volunteer!

Good point, Marsha. You do so much work around here, I don't want to burn you out.

Hey! YOU! You over there!? Want to help set up the Hats On Offline? It's not hard work ...

Hey All! I'm very flexible, so you all agree on when and what time. Anything works for me. I will even throw in a gift card for some type best of award. Maybe a Sunday brunch or early dinner. We also have lots of Sunday specials. Half off wine, 20% off reserve list, 1/2 off seviches, $2 margaritas, $5 mojitos, etc. Let me know and it's a go!
