I believe he may already be. You know what I really like at both places is their after 4pm bar menu. Many items for only $2.95. HOW can you beat that? Wanna meet. I think you are married but bring him along anyhow. LOL.

They do have good food and I always have the best experiences with their serving staff. We even went there VDay because I am not a big fan of the priced fixed menus that a lot of the local fine dining places do on holidays.

There was an article in the C-J today about Joe's OK Bayou, mentioned that their oysters were good; never been there myself so I can't verify.

annemarie, doesn't March have an R in it? :)

I would also suggest Mitchell's as a good place to get raw oysters.

The way I spell, April also has an R.

My favorites are the Stellar Bays at Z's. The last time I was there they had a collection of the Hood Canals, which are good. Just not to the level of the Stellars...

i concur

also... the old, old saying refers to months that END in the letter 'R'
but it is antiquated and , for many reasons, basically irrelevant anymore

Jay's Oyster Bar on the waterfront in Portland, Maine.....Not exactly in driving distance is it....

I've been known to slug down some oysters at Hooter's myself  ....They do shuck em' fresh and they are nicely chilled, plump gulf oysters...However, there are more refined offerings out there that have already been mentioned if you don't care for the "atmosphere" at Hooter's :D

During one of our "Let's all meet there" dinners we tried the oysters and WOW were they fresh, plump and reasonabley priced. My Son works there and gives us a heads up on when a case is brought in.

They are hit or miss so you may want to call ahead and make sure they have them on hand.
