Hey, don't go hatin' on Moby Dick! It may be a chain, but it's locally owned and operated with properties only in and around Louisville, and their fish-sandwich quality, in my opinion, is competitive with the other fried-fish places around town.

Let the flaming begin!

I'm not flaming. I loves me some good ol' Moby Dick fish sandwich on rye with tartar sauce.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

No hatin' intended, I just wouldn't qualify them as "Best Seafood" in Clark County. I personally favor their chicken sandwich, onion rings, and even their fried green tomatoes.

Yeah. I'm weird. I go to Moby Dick for the chicken sandwiches. Fried okra is great there, too.

The local newspapers (Tribune in Floyd, Evening News in Jeff ... both CNHI properties) recently did a "best of" vote. The first I heard of it was one of the ad people calling to let us know that we could buy ballots in bulk newspaper bundles if desired, and I probably don't need to go any further, but ... we ended up tied for best pizza in Floyd County with ... yes, that's right, CiCi's, they of the pizza buffet and the tagline, "Almost too good to be true!"

Lest you think I'm being critical of the newspapers, I'm not. They've improved tremendously of late. It's just that there'll always be one vote or another to permit someone to take credit for something that's largely irrelevant. I view that as an extension of democracy's illusion.

Roger, that's a travesty! I've had your pizza, as well as Cici's and there's just no comparison!

I don't think so, either. The point is that the question, "Who has the best pizza?" lacks any context. It's almost as bad as asking, "which of these TWO parties is more qualified to govern?"

CiCi's might well be the best buffet, or the best cheap pizza, or something like that. "Best of" is just nonsensical all the way around.

I mean, honestly. The "pizza" at Cici's is just barely palatable. Sure, it's all you can eat for like $5, but at some point quality should really be considered over quantity. I'm honestly baffled as to how Cici's could have won.

Roger's got it right. I probably wouldn't agree with half of the people on what makes a great pie. I can say that I don't believe that Papa Johns, Dominos, CiCi's or Pizza hut serve pizza. CPC is my current favorite, but Sean is aware I like a more artisian pie. All that being said, I used to get a 16" cheese pie from the corner deli in Long Island for $5 in the early 90's and it was GREAT!
