::Start rant::

Well we went tonight and it was 100% the worst burger I've ever had in my life. I would rather be forced to eat at McD's for a week straight than ever eat here again.

I may never get the coating of grease out of my mouth. The burger had zero flavor (unless you call congealed grease a flavor). My cheese was cold and oily. Bottom burger raw. Bun was like it had been soaked in water and my fries were cold. I would not have wished that burger on my worst enemy.

::End Rant::

Wow, I need to get there and try it for myself. Did it just open? There is always a learning curve when a new place opens up.

Hmmmmm...I'm really surprised. The times I've been to 5GB&F I have always found the burgers (and especially) the fries to be really-really good. Think I'll stop in for lunch tomorrow and see if things have changed for the worse. Thanks for posting this review.

We ate at the one in Ne Abany on Friday night and thought they were pretty good. Not the best I have ever had , but I'd go again.

Amy,

Which location are you talking about? I was at B&N at the Summit today and there are still "Coming Soon " signs in the windows there.

Thanks,
Deb

So, the one in the Summit is NOT opened yet? In that case, I'll give the restaurant at the International Mall a try tomorrow.

I say, never mind, and go to Shady lane for the Brownsboro burger... it's just a couple miles down 22 to 42!

Perfect combo: Brownsboro burger and a visit to the well stocked used bookstore (whose name escapes me) right next door to Shady Lane Cafe.

Five guys is good, but I have to disagree about Inn and Out Burger...both use fresh burger and fresh cut fries but, Inn and Out's are smallish and crispy on the edges. As soon as my plane is within 500 miles of Vegas or Phoenix I get the crave.
Five Guys are fairly large burgers that are very moist (greasy) and you can pile on the toppings. Their fries are good and the small is enough for 3 people as they dump an extra scoop in the bag on top of everything. Cajun fries are excellent for those that like spicy.

That is SO funny...

I was just there the other day. Of course, my luck dictates that Shady Lane was closed in between lunch and dinner. I dropped into the bookstore anyways and found a copy of Graham Kerr's 'The Complete Galloping Gourmet Cookbook.' How cool is that?

Same deal in New Albany. I tried the 5 Guys on State Street and, for a fast food chain, it's not bad. The stuffed burger with bleu cheese at Studio's just down the road on Main Street is leagues better, though. And there's a strong independent bookstore within a few blocks as well.

5 guys will do quite a lot of business, and they're a great addition!
