Well now Gary, the sweet potato fry is a horse (I mean potato  ) of a different color. If we're talking sweet potato fries, I with you - Mojito's or Havana Rumba. However, Palermo Viejo is still my favorite for regular potato fries.

My lord intended them to be blanched and fried in duck fat

Ahhhhh - Hot Doug's in Chicago - Fries rendered in duck fat. Does anyone do that in Louisville???

Ate at Lilly's last night, and yes - their fries are in duck fat!

Amy I have to 2nd and 3rd Palermo Viejo....I love the frites with chimichurri . It's a good thing they aren't all you can eat cause I would make myself sick.

I'd give a nod to Lonnie's Best Taste of Chicago (121 St. Matthews Ave.)

I'm not aware of their fries being anything other than normal restaurant fare, but they have been fried to order every time I have been there, and they are generally on the plate within thirty seconds of leaving the fryer.

I'm very happy to see Palermo's fries doing so well in the poll. They've been my "by-far-favorite" for a long time.
