OMG!!!! I didnt realize Shah's had dduk boki and had no idea the menu is mostly Korean.

I only recently discovered it myself. I was very excited when I learned they would make dduk boki. It isn't on the menu, but they've always had it available whenever I've asked. And the more of us that request it, the longer they'll keep it around. They always seem mildly amused that I want it and furthermore that I like it. And they provide very large glasses of water.

I ate there last night and ordered Dok Boki, which isn't on the menu but is my favorite Korean dish ever and extremely hard to find. It was very good. And if you like spicy, this a wonderful dish to try. The sauce is made from a paste of those hot little red peppers.

OMG!!!! I didnt realize Shah's had dduk boki and had no idea the menu is mostly Korean. I havent been there for years... when 2 Hahn's first opened. I know the previous owners were Korean but didnt realize the new owners were also (or at least put Korean on the menu). I am so there. I hope they are quick with their water refills.... if all goes well with the dduk boki, I'll need it. One of favorite memories is getting dduk boki from street vendors in Seoul.

Also, Sohee, if you put kimchee chijae on the menu, you won't be able to get me out of there.

I agree, Louisville needs goooood kimchee chigae!
BTW - Sake Blue is serving up Kalbi which is garlic/soy/pear marinated tender short ribs for a few weeks. We completely forgot that it's Lent now so wasn't the best timing but for those of you not observing Lent, keep us in mind for Kalbi! =)
