I've not tried any of the vegetarian dishes at Queen of Sheba, but if they're anything like the omnivore dishes they'll be damn good. I was up there tonight after heading to the track and it was jamming. Good stuff.

I second Queen of Sheba. Their vegetarian dishes are quite delicious.

Also, almost any Indian restaurant in town will have a fairly wide variety of vegan dishes. I've never ordered off the menu at either of these as I've only been to the buffet, but either Dak Shin or Bombay Grill would be excellent choices.

I also have to throw in a good word for the grape leaf. If you like eggplant, you have to try their moussaka. They also have wonderful hummus and falafel.

Finally, for a nice inexpensive meal, check out Shah's Mongolian Grill near U of L's Belknap campus. $5 for a ridiculous portion of customized stir fry, and they have vegan options. I can never eat all of it in one sitting.

Z's Fusion has a vegetarian menu, but you have to ask for it. It includes several veggie versions of their regular menu items.

Karma Cafe, Tony Boombozz has quite a few vegetarian option pizzas (I love the Portobello Bella), Shiraz Mediterranean Grill.

I'm a vegetarian and almost any restaurant I go to has at least one or two options: Uptown Cafe, Cafe Metro, 60 West Bistro, Primo, Asiatique, El Mundo, Artemesia.. I could name a ton. Really, just go to the Restaurant List on the main page and most of them have something. The local restaurants are very accomodating and in tune with us Louisvillians.

Oh, and Cumberland Brews has one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had! It's basically a falafel burger. And I second BBC having an awesome veggie burger, too. And even though it's a chain, I'm obsessed with Qdoba. I eat there at least once a week.

The Boombozz Primavera and the d'Siena are also favorites when we're in the mood for a meatless pie. Loads of spinach makes 'em healthy and goooood. :)

Another welcome, Krystal! Glad you found your way to our forum.

And the Manny, which is a delicious white pizza.

Oh, and I almost forgot about Spinelli's. Their white pizza is amazing as well.

My vegetarian friend LOVES the Potato Gratin entree at Jack Fry's.

Sorry, I'm a little late chiming in on this one but... BBC does have a terrific veggie burger. They are very freshly made, healthy and yummy! I am not a vegetarian but I love the veggie burgers here. We also have a portobello wrap that is also very good. But above and beyond, i recommend the veggie burger all the time to anyone who asks!

Debbie -

Our menu at Arbor Ridge Vine & Grill has options for you. We are also quite accomodating to special requests, ie -can I have this with that? Not uncommon for veggans to make up their own "meal" from items across our menus (Lunch and Dinner). While not a vegetarian menu for certain we have been been able to please those who have given us a try. You can check us out on our website.
