No, it hasn't caught on.

Lordy..it's a mess in there on the first Wednesday of the month! A suspicious lack of shellfish and pork products as well on a regular basis.

Favorite Krogers on my list...the Highlands and the one in Middletown.

You think that's bad? Flu shot day is the worst.

Nothing like having to scream "EXCUSE ME!!" at the top of your lungs, because an elderly person has parked their cart in the MIDDLE of the aisle, thus making it impossible to get your cart through. This is the Kroger closest to my house, and I loathe it.

My husband worked right next to the Highlands Kroger, and we lived in old Louisville, so when we wanted Boboli, he would stop by HLs after work. When we wanted police presence and awesome customer service, we would hit the local 2nd street Kroger. Memories. Of course, Scheller's was always the milk and 6 year old Koolaid mix stop. Aah, memories...

I don't go in the Lower Brownsboro Kroger much, but I've been in there 2 or 3 times in the past few months. Each time I've looked for evidence of the "dirty Kroger" name, and I've been stumped. They keep that place pristine. I wonder if the sense of that place is not affected by the floors--old fashioned elementary school floors that need to be waxed. When I've been in there they've been shiny, but somehow the original pattern or finish makes them look grimy when, upon close inspection, they're not.

It's not a dirty Kroger.

Charles, you should have seen it before their complete renovation about 8-10 years ago. That's the era from whence the handle "dirty Kroger" came. You're right, it's pretty much fine nowadays (although I wonder who decided what goes where in that store - products are arranged very counter-intuitively, if you ask me. Of course, no one did ;))

In our area, we have Krogers on almost every corner - LaGrange Rd., Westport, Brownsboro, but we pass all of them up to go to the one in Prospect. Very pleasant experience each time. We like to buy our spirits now in the 'old Winn Dixie' - Prospect Party Center. Very nice. Nice beer assortment. BF friendly.
At work, if I need to go the grocery, I pass up quite a few and head east to the UofL Kroger. I like that one.
Is Fresher Market still coming to the Holiday Manor area? I love to run into Paul's or Dolls. I forget about Burgers. The Fresher Market in Middletown is near my husband's school. He'll buy a few items there.
Since there are only two of us now, we tend to eat out (small tastings then bring the rest home with us) quite a bit.
Went to several places for the first time this past week. (We get in a rut and go to the same places weekly - NABC and BBC.)
L&N Wine - wine and appetizer at the bar. Lovely. Wonderful ambience if I might use the word. Romantic. Fireplace(s). (Alittle pricey so we will stick to wine and appetizer until a special occassion.)
Blue Dog Bakery was on a wait last Sat. so we went on to the Meridian. It was on a wait too. Got into Wild Eggs for the first time (end of the rush at 2:45 just before closing. I asked if they minded. I didn't think it would be the same as coming in late just before closing and ordering a meal. Had the eggs bennie on the corn cakes - yummy.)
I forget about Rainbow Blossom too for some food stuff. And the Homemade Pie Kitchen.
Lots of great food options in Louisville. I need to go exercise now!

Yes, Fresh Market is still coming. They're going to go in where the Ramada Inn used to be. The building is torn down and grading has begun.
