Might I suggest Safier? The food is great and the price is right and it's practically next door to the Palace. They specialize in Persian and Lebanese fare. http://safierdeli.com/

I vote Z's. It's sort of a long walk to the Palace, but as far as I know, the Fourth Street Trolley is still running. You should be able to park in the Galt House garage, eat at Z's Fusion, walk back to Fourth and Main to catch the trolley southward (look for the trolley stop signs), pay - I'm not sure, last time I took the trolley on Fourth it was $.35 - It might be more, now.) not very much, get off and the Palace, watch the show, rinse, repeat in reverse.

Kings of Leon! How exciting!

Actually, Mark, you have a few more options (not that I don't love Z's :-)
- the BBC at Theater Square is open and offers a casual option, about 1/2 a block from the Palace. Not quite as far as 4SL, Caviar has great sushi as well as a Japanese menu, and can get you in and out quickly - especially if you let them know you're on a timetable. You can also park at the Seelbach garage that way - and be a little bit away from the Palace traffic. Caviar is off of Muhammad Ali between 4th and 5th, behind the Seelbach.

Hope this got to you in time!

Lisa, follow this process to load your very own avatar. Look for the User Control Panel and click it. It's located on the left hand side of the page 1/4th the way down. Once you've done that, click on Profile. Then click on Edit Avatar. At that point you can either browse your hard drive for an image or paste in a URL that leads to an image. Be aware that the maximum dimensions are as follows; width: 80 pixels, height: 80 pixels, file size: 6kB. If you need any more help just PM me. I hope this helps. :)

Ok just to report back....we dined at Z's Fusion.

We decided to park in the garage above the restaurant and walk the 5 blocks or so to The Palace after dinner. No sign of a trolley.

We arrived right at 5:30 and there was only one other table and a couple guys at the bar so we were seated immediately. The appetizers were oriented towards sushi so that's where we started along with cocktails. My wife ordered her obligatory bourbon and coke and I told the waiter to just bring be something that would pair well with sushi. I received a drink in a frosted martini glass that was saki based and had blueberries in it...a snow colored mixture that was on target to match the raw fish. We ordered oysters, the crawfish-mango roll, and the white tuna carpaccio. The oysters were by far the best of the three - three plump raw oysters in a citrus-like liquor with cucumber. I got two because my 14 y-o won't eat oysters (his loss). The sushi roll was good but needed the soy sauce to brighten it up. We found the white tuna carpaccio a bit of a let down. First off the fish did not appear to be white tuna - I'm almost certain it was yellow tail. There was a gristle in all the pieces at one end that made it less appetizing. The sauce on the plate didn't add a lot to the dish so we used soy sauce. I don't want to sound hyper critical but the sushi, with the exception of the oysters, was nothing special and given the number of really fine sushi bars in this town, this needs to come up a couple of notches. We will sample all the options before long so maybe we made poor choices.

Moving on to the really good news. My son had a poached pear salad with a balsamic dressing that he loved. Entrees were duck breast for my son, flat iron steak for my wife, and hebi over polenta with bacon for me. I got the best dish, but all were really good. The hebi was similar in texture to salmon but with white flesh. The fish was perfectly cooked and the polenta with bacon was awesome. I mean really really fine. I had a Fusion Cocktail with dinner that was sweeter that my first drink (due to the addition of plum wine) but was my favorite despite the fact I usually prefer my alcohol dry. We split a decadent molten chocolate cake for dessert and I capped it off with a nice dessert riesling. Service was great and by the time we left the bar was full and there were 6 or 7 tables on a cold Tuesday night. We noticed that there was a lot of wait staff/servers standing in the wings looking hopeful - I hope they get slammed real soon. The decor and atmosphere was fabulous. All in all a great meal from a new place still trying to find it's footing. Pricing was very reasonable BTW.

Stephen D. we asked but they said you weren't working tonight...catch you next time!

Thanks to everyone on the board for directing us to Z's.
