Speaking of Delta. Anyone eaten there recently or has it shutdown? I went years ago and their food was great, but have not made it back since.

I go to the Delta at least 2-3 days a week. It's fast and cheap. Today I had the special, which was turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll, and iced tea and the total was $7.63 (plus tip). It's homestyle food, nothing fancy, but tastes okay.

It looks like they might be open. They took the paper down in the windows. Anybody know?

Yes, they officially opened yesterday. The hubby got to go to their soft opening last week and really enjoyed it. Its a miracle to get him to eat salad. Who knows what he actually had on it.

Wish they'd open one on Dupont. I could go there for lunch!

It is definitely open as I had lunch there today. My first piece of advice would be to wait until it's been open for a while. The place was swamped and it seems like they are not quite used to the volume and they need some time to figure out how to be more efficient. Other than that, I found the place to be pretty unremarkable. Remember, it's a salad place.... kind of hard to make it spectacular. They make everything to order. They have several salads with set ingredients for those who don't want to bother coming up with their own salads. In addition, they have a custom option where you choose the type of lettuce you want and have every ingredient under the sun. You get 4 ingredients included in the price but at least half of the ingredients are an upcharge. After you choose your salad, someone chops it then tosses it. If you don't like your salad, it's your own fault because you tell them what you want. However, I would rather have a Big Salad from City Cafe. Another way to describe the place would be to say it's like a Whole Foods or Kroger salad bar on steroids where you point out the ingredients and someone makes it for you. The ingredients were fresh and the quality was good. I think its a great addition to the downtown dining scene as it gives people another healthy lunch option. But facts are facts, it's a salad place. Nothing less, nothing more. Very safe lunch option but as the risk is low, so is the reward.

I also went here this week. The produce in my salad was delicious and the staff were friendly - the staff is still gearing up and settling in - but they were as nice as could be.

I do have a few constructive complaints: They don't yet have all the ingredients listed on the menu in stock (I was unable to get artichoke hearts or "lemon zing" dressing - which I wanted to try.)

The pricing (which does seem to have an upcharge for 1/2 the ingredients) is confusing and annoying. If they insist on so many upcharges they should organize the menu by price with a list of the free items, the .99 additions, 1.99 additions etc. to make it easier for folks to figure out how much they are going to spend. Or perhaps that is their plan.....
