A lot of "guests" access the site who can neither see the poll or the results. Lot of times more guests than registered people. I assume these are counted in the "views".

Why didn't I think of that? I'm probably personally responsible for 30 of those views....

Thanks,
Deb

Yes, but this is America- don't we all want to stand up and be heard?

hey all,
please remember that most "tasting" events cost the restaurants participating at least $500.00. minimum.
labor... paying for an extra body or two ( if you are open on mondays) to attend the event, or staff the missing spots, of those sent.
cost of goods served... nothing is cheap these days... grits probably, butter, cream specialty cheese, that (MIGHT) go in them & a large quantity of shrimp??? no way!
linen, forks, plates, etc..
please price this event so it raises money for the cause! my vote is for AT LEAST $15.00
a lot of us have desserts first ( girl scouts ) on january 29th.
this event ( f.e.a.t.) in feb.
taste of the derby festival ( dare to care ) on april 21st.
and about 50 requests a week ( no exaggeration ) for donations, especially in the holiday season.
we are happy to be involved, but we also want it to raise money for will's cause.
thanks to deb, robin and all who are helping to organize this... tasting events are'nt the easiest things to pull off.

Here you go! Final decision on time, date and price

by Robin Garr » Sat Jan 10, 2009 4:01 pm

Folks, we’ve just finalized the details. Based on your collective input, and our desire to do some collective good as a group, we’re going to ask everyone to dig down a little bit and donate $15 per person. This will be great for FEAT, and a great deal for all of you - where else can you get dinner from some of Louisville’s best and a show for only $15? Time will be 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, at Captain's Quarters.

Robin/Deb - will there be some sort of online flyer or something available for this? I'd like to circulate it around the law firm to drum up interest.

Deb has volunteered to take the point on this for LHB, for which I am truly grateful. I'm certain that a poster is on the way, though, and come to think of it, when said poster comes out, I'll create a page on LouisvilleHotBytes.com to display it there as well.

That works. I'll keep my eyes open. With 60+ benefit-supporting good-eating attorneys around here, it could bring in a few extra people.

Brad,

Thanks for asking.

The poster is being designed as we speak and the target for printing is next week. Once we have them, we'd love to have volunteers to convince businesses to post them and/or post in your office building.

Thanks to Republic for doing this for the event!

Deb, can you get me a digital copy ASAP so I can put it on a special Throwdown page on LouisvilleHotBytes.com? If it's a gigantic TIFF too large to Email, let me know, and we can arrange a sneakernet delivery on a RAM bean. :)

Hey Deb, do you think it would be a nice addition to have a silent auction? I don't think it's too late to come up with a few donations and they are always popular at these events....BTW, I commend you on your efforts as being the point person for this....
