It my understanding that the rainy day fund is about $96 million in total. The funds are spread of over accounts. The former city had known it would probably owe the firefighters, and had been socking away $ for that. We still could have dipped into the fund to lessen the budget cuts without hurting our bond rating. Some of the cuts where inevitable, like Otter Creek. Metro has been looking at ways to unload it for years. Oddly the city of park does not want that one!

He doesn't care about us.

He's the Blago of Louisville and one day soon he won't be mayor anymore.

Can anyone say Cordish kickback?

Just when I'm about to disagree with Jon K. and say this is an appropriate thread, I am reminded that it easily goes over the edge. "The Blago of Louisville"? Geez . . . hyperbolize much?

The comments all have good points. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard about the meeting? Did it really happen? Is it just a rumor?
